From 01st January 2024 to 31st December 2024 I rode 13825 miles on motorcycles. Yes I am sad enough to keep a log . 9082 of those were on my Street Triple (including 2300 miles on our trip to Jerez). 4137 of those were on my Fireblade (which wasn’t ridden until the end of April as it was off the road whilst the fairings were painted). 606 of those were on a Honda NC750 on our Canaries trip. I had some miscellaneous miles on the Kawasaki ZX4-RR and the 2024 Fireblade SP too. For 2025 I would like to do some more touring and camping as I really enjoyed the three solo camping trips I did on my rest days from work this year and the trips to Gran Canaria and Spain were brilliant. I have also booked two track instruction days in May and July with Rapid Training. What did everyone else do in 2024 and what are your hopes and plans for 2025?
Hi Mrs Visor, that's some miles on a motorcycle obviously you love riding.....I do on average around 8k per year that's including a European trip 2024 I and 2 mates went to central and southern Spain and back up through Portugal which was a 13 night hol with a couple of rest days which one mate wasn't happy about....other than that rides to Wales most weeks as and when the weather allowed and a trip to Hawes in Yorkshire for 3 nights. I lost one of my mates in November who'd had a kidney transplant which wasn't a success and sadly died from organ failure. 2025 hopefully will be another trip abroad perhaps to Austria if at least one of my mates will come with me. I have a tiger 900gtpro and absolutely love it and perhaps swop that for a new one !!!! Take care.
Happy touring in 2025! I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mate in November, I am sure you'll carry some good memories of them on your trips.
Me have not got a clue i just go with the flow. Do want to get back to N/Ireland and possible south just to visit family and friends. But other than that i am unsure.
@Mrs Visor I always have fun. You are incredible the mile you travel. Don't think i would ever travel as much
Our plans for 2025: Get the needed kilometers for the first service on my new Rocket with some small trips in our area. April: A short trip to Bosnia (Banja Luka and Sarajevo) May: A 9 day trip to Romania. June: A long weekend trip to the Schwarzwald in Germany. September: A journey to the USA and two weeks with a rental V8 US muscle car (Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger). The time in-between we will do many weekend trips in Austria.
As inspiring as ever, Markus. I hope you and your wife have a fabulous 2025 on both two and four wheels!! It's been many years since I have been to the Schwarzwald, but it is definitely somewhere I would like to go again, this time on a bike.
@Mrs Visor: As every year my wife has already "structured" our biking year. Some accomodations are booked too. We are really looking forward to start our biking season again.
Hopefully off for a pootle around EU - Belgium, France, Austria, Italy, and Germany, to do some mountain road bashing. 10 days in June. Then Corsica via Livorno in Italy in September for about 12 or so days… Working on a Romania trip sometime late summer, but not detailed as yet… Can’t wait!
Did about 15k last year, which is a bit low for me, but not extremely. Worked a lot, didn't have time for any pleasure trips. This year, I'm planning a trip to Sturgis. The Rally there isn't really my scene (at all, I'm likely to really not enjoy it), but being the largest motorcycle event on the planet it seemed a worthwhile destination for a big trip. Should be about 5-5.5k as we take a very roundabout route through Utah and Colorado on our way there from here in Canada. Looking forward to it. It'll be my first trip on my Scrambler 1200, and I'm sure it'll be a lot more comfortable than my prior MT10SP.
We did the same amount of mileage as our average, about 4k on the K16. And only did 2 track days on the Speed Triple. Only did 2 trips, one to Yorkshire and 1 to Scotland for a long weekend. We are debating doing a trip to the States to do Route 66, but that is very much in the balance at the moment. Also, planning on doing an off road track day in Wales and a Jamie Whitham training track day either at Cadwell Park or Anglesey.
@Mrs Visor, just getting around to planning my motorcycle adventure for 2025. It’s winter here in BC Canada but we do get the odd few days of sunny weather. I’m planning on doing some solo camping as well with my Speed Twin 1200 (2024). I got my Ogio side and tailbag sorted out and will be doing a shakedown ride likely in February just to see how things fit in the compartments. I am hoping to tour some of the islands around me and even try and head to Crater Lake in Oregon (USA). I hear that’s a ride in itself. Being on the Pacific Northwest, we have lots of trees, mountains and ocean views so there is always a destination in any direction. Goal is to get away from traffic and closer to nature. I just hope the gurgle of the parallel twin doesn’t scare the birds away. . Happy riding to you and be safe!
Nothing concrete for 2025. Do have a plan to meet @Vulpes in May for a few days and possible tour in Ireland. Other than this nothing in the diary.
I've still got that two stroke itch and with my youngest getting his TZR on the road soon, hopefully, then it's no doubt only going to get worse. 2024 900 street twin did around 4000 miles 765 did about 2500 And the 675, now with my other son, did around 1500 in my possession. So around 8k all in.
