My T120 seems to have developed a bit of a strange fault. This has happened twice now and in similar circumstances. I got held up in traffic having driven for about 20 miles or so then when I tried to move off from idle it died and backfired as soon as I tried to apply any throttle. It does restart and idle, but the same thing happens again, I've managed to get it going again after a couple of minutes but I have to hold revs on to stop it doing it again. Once it's been parked up (and I guess cooled off) it runs fine again. I can't work out what it might be, other than that one issue the bike rides perfectly normally
@Fretwell You may need a remap. And check the air sensor and inlet rubbers. Welcome to the family. Let us all know how you get on.m And a picture would be nice. Just hit the upload a file button and show it of to the inmates
@joe mc donald I've had a look at what you suggested - as far as I can see the rubber intake boots look intact. I've tested the air intake sensor and that seems to be ohming out bang in the middle of the range it should be. Good idea though, and it would have been a cheap fix Tim
@Tim Fretwell Might need a remap and carb balance. Do check the old side stand switch and clutch lever on that they are clean and making proper contact.
Bear in mind the old saying-most fuel problems are electrical. Symptoms like that can be caused by faulty crank position sensor or ignition coil.
Been a long time since I posted this, it's taken this long on and off to get to the bottom of it, I ended up taking it to my local mechanic and he finally worked out what was wrong - apparently a dodgy wire going to the coil pack - fitted new plugs and leads too but the main problem seemed to be that
