Speed Triple 1200 Spare Key

Hi.
Just looking through my service book etc.
Do you get a spare key fob with the triple 1200 from new. I can't find mine. Did I even get one (bike was new, so I assume so...) have I lost it?!

 

You should have 2 keys, 1 smart key & 1 passive key. Have a look in the owners handbook you got with the bike for info on how to use the passive key.

 

Oh yeah. I found that passive key. It was hidden in the owners book (in a zip pocket!)
Hardly a proper key. Only reason I needed it was because my actual key fob battery has run out


Old man alert...... What was wrong with normal keys?!

 

The smart key with a flat battery becomes a stupid key and will only work as a passive key.

 

Hold your smart key up to the right hand side plastic cover that runs along under the seat, about halfway along the cover. It will allow you to unlock and start the bike as normal.

 

Yeah, did that in the end.
And then put the bike away, as it started to rain ☔
