Evening everyone, my name is Phil, I’ve just joined the forum and looking for a little advice. Despite my years I’m new to Triumph bikes. I really don’t know why I haven’t ridden one sooner because I absolutely love my Scrambler 900. I’ve not had it long, at the moment it has intermediate tyres, but there’s not much meat left on them. I want to swap to full knobbly tyres, I just think the bike looks so much better. So can anyone advise me on which knobblys are best and last longer. Much appreciated in advance.

Eyup Phil and welcome't forum. What exactly do you mean by "full knobblies" and do you intend to take the bike off road? The grip tyres like this offer on tarmac, especially wet, is rubbish compared to just about any road biased tyre. The wear rate on a bike as heavy as a SS will be atrocious and knob tearing could be a real problem. I've been spat off the enduro bike twice on tarmac and that bike weighs 100kg less than a SS. I have a brand new rear Pirelli Rally STR which I bought for the SS before I decided to sell it and I'll be fitting it to the 1200 shortly along with a matching front. The Pirellis offer a good compromise between looks and decent road grip IMO but ultimately the choice is yours. The Pirellis are also an "approved" fitment for both bikes which can be an issue if you come off and make an insurance claim.
