    Evening everyone, my name is Phil, I’ve just joined the forum and looking for a little advice.
    Despite my years I’m new to Triumph bikes. I really don’t know why I haven’t ridden one sooner because I absolutely love my Scrambler 900. I’ve not had it long, at the moment it has intermediate tyres, but there’s not much meat left on them. I want to swap to full knobbly tyres, I just think the bike looks so much better.
    So can anyone advise me on which knobblys are best and last longer. Much appreciated in advance.

    @Phil wright Can't help with tyres but welcome to the family. When you get a chance hit the upload a file button bottom right and show the inmates your bike. And sure someone will be along soon to help out.

    Eyup Phil and welcome't forum.

    What exactly do you mean by "full knobblies" and do you intend to take the bike off road?
    I've had 2 Street Scramblers prior to the 1200 I bought this year and I fitted these Pirellis and really liked them for road use.....
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302764044338?_skw=pirelli+corpion+rally+str&itmmeta=01JBA4FCXG0M8Q6BK7J36YPAWX&hash=item467e24b032:g:KKAAAOSwwUhgRIgX&itmprp=enc:AQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx+KZ9MfhVJKkv0CMsB7as0sKcc1esQf2u1r9MhkicS+aA5X/z5gPLuq5gvAw18Y4t0KQ3Bzi0TlVr06ujeZtGFtjxbJ2eVx8M5cdDTbzcrDJOAVAzrUBJxdjk4G20fqYYiXazWHCliKhTSq6q2OQiOnNOL/uwgWsSMfYipKT0WmHAwTGjrb3NHRvt2ISGKlCM2odbZxYcDWUbvihEmEiJhfjf6jXraMZVV0IXz6VVDZs2cDzqDnjHWWP1MAdHyg+o0x254ChW0l0=|tkp:Bk9SR-7OvcTaZA

    I also have an enduro bike with, what I call full knobblies" like these...
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404801645772?_skw=metzeler+six+days&epid=4047165412&itmmeta=01JBA4DXJR3SXN6DVX6VPQMBR7&hash=item5e400eeccc:g:3HMAAOSw8vll7z5T&itmprp=enc:AQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx+KZ9MfhVJKnFbNjgTTRIl2rs2CyTYj1MLMw7++G2IPRS0SFVfFqz3v5lwJq03X18+WtzDe30lpfp6TsIPuGYrc9OeD66/49cIa+Kbv8io00gyQ8kRBqL+i06btQgvvtfD5KNScLKx6mooVdkIVZEbTCGc+vQ1S3gcFu6xR4Au7TkTYC+Uj1COt5S+W7Rf68meFby1BlTSffDE7DrgOuzWU43p2/wMqpb/pgNxB1iYy9aVMZLW71BEc8qD5kT87lXbi+oE8TgKx7D0X3dTYSWhsFUR8o3KwP/Vo+zdii4Z3mkxn2lbfsSrg==|tkp:Bk9SR7zZt8TaZA

    I agree they certainly will enhance the scrambler look but personally I would not fit them onto a Street Scrambler. The grip tyres like this offer on tarmac, especially wet, is rubbish compared to just about any road biased tyre. The wear rate on a bike as heavy as a SS will be atrocious and knob tearing could be a real problem.

    This is one of the harder compound full knobbies but even they won't last long on road....https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276607683961?_skw=mitas+co2+stone+king&itmmeta=01JBA5QAPGSJNRBNGSPHZHX7EX&hash=item40671a4d79:g:T8wAAOSw8d5myHA3&itmprp=enc:AQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx+KZ9MfhVJKn3WiSa7aTG3mYHHsJTpLupoPEUQmkDQ7rIhCJvAHsie5GJBPur5UOn1b9cuu/lRvnzadUSi0M5I6h8--vr7IPSeNcOR6P2tOtYZOhMoCeCIYTeTtK5yFfzTf2/d+vzw7uB254zvNZ12kDBnOlEcYClc1HFvR6OT+fsnLk--+WeKCK2GUIbHDRDIWq66deaOhUNVPfrM4r2o1iJgvT1OVDWAnLdVM840u2btlCIfVa9EgHyYxqIvHZLTSqj+JmRJIrrQpoNB3zRgpeULF1ndC+QF/hC3HMnAAjin1Pyr/qyGw==|tkp:Bk9SR7Kr3cXaZA

    Proper "off road knobblies" are also designed to run at lower pressures than higher speed rated road tyres.

    I've been spat off the enduro bike twice on tarmac and that bike weighs 100kg less than a SS. I have a brand new rear Pirelli Rally STR which I bought for the SS before I decided to sell it and I'll be fitting it to the 1200 shortly along with a matching front. The Pirellis offer a good compromise between looks and decent road grip IMO but ultimately the choice is yours.
    The Pirellis are also an "approved" fitment for both bikes which can be an issue if you come off and make an insurance claim.:grinning:
