Day 4. We rode from Clifden further down the west coast to Killarney. Part of the ride meant that we had to get a small ferry from Killimer to Tarbert across the Shannon.
Day 5. Our stay in Killarney was over two nights, so on our second day we rode the Healy Pass and then the Ring of Kerry. Both included some of the best roads that we were on over the trip,
On day 6 Andy and Mark set off from Killarney to head north to their homes and Paul and I set off for Rosslare and our digs for our overnight stop before our ferry back into Fishguard in Wales. On day 7 Paul and I rode back up to Cheshire in awful weather most of the way home to finish our trip. We had one really good day in Ireland with the sun shining and the remainder were mixed with showers and overcast with occasional sun shine. Our total milage was circa 1490 miles.
Wow, @Wessa! Looks like a fantastic trip with a lot of gorgeous--and GREEN!--scenery. I particularly love the last photo in this particular post with the clouds reflected in the water on Day 3. Thanks for sharing your adventures!!
Working Hard, Still waiting Knee Op. Replace the replaced knee. (Flying around on last years project bike ) Honda Silverwing. Great fun bike. Twist and go to rest the knee. I have the accasional day on the Triumph and GTR1400, I was at the Margate Meltdown on Monday.
Looks like you had a fantastic trip. Great pictures. Just a quick question, what are the midges like on the west coast area? We’re going in three weeks and I will take some Smidge or equivalent if they are bad.
Depends on the weather, we had one morning where they were biting. They were out at other times but not being annoying. Bring midge spray!
Yeah I was going to take some but there are 12 of us this time so I’m not supplying the whole group . We’re having a meeting this evening re our trip (beers) so I will suggest they all get some. Thanks Andy.
Thanks for taking the time and energy to post on this forum, @andyc1! It's nice to see your photography again. I particularly like the first photo in this post. Glad you guys had a good trip!
I had a proper camera packed, but then decided not to bring it. Wish I did bring it though, got an iphone last year and I don't like the camera, there's so much post processing going on which you have little control over. Look closely at the transition between hills and sky and you will notice the hills have a halo round them. A result of all that processing. It seems all that money apple charge is for an algorithm instead of quality hardware
And speaking of Avon Skin So Soft, I just this evening ran across this article. Mosquitos and I don’t get along at all! Well, on the other hand, they seem to love me. It’s me that doesn’t like them! I hope you always says he doesn’t need any mosquito repellent as long as I’m nearby. https://bcmj.org/articles/mosquito-...ntrolled-trial-comparing-95-deet-avon-skin-so
