Just picked up my new Thruxton RS and noticed imidlertid that transmission is whining at 1 and 2 gear. Here is example video where you can hear clearly from the start of video. I'm coming from Street Cup and do not remember that transmission was so loud so. It is a different transmission 6 speed instead of 5 but what else can course it. I made som research and apparently all Thruxtons RS does that so I just wonder why ? Apart from that the bike is absolutely awesome.
My thruxton R makes a whine almost sounds like a supercharger sometimes which I like a lot. It has always done it. I’ve not had any issues never crossed my mind to challenge it.
I like it as well, sounds like proper old machine but at first thought that bearings or something are done.
Not that I’m aware of mine only had 1600 miles on it when I bought it. I’m no mechanic but IMO it comes under the category of feel/character of the bike. Happy to be corrected if someone knows otherwise. I say happy I will be seriously annoyed if I’m wrong.
That sounds more like whine from the gear driven balancer shafts to me as it's engine speed dependent and normal IMO. My Street Scramblers did it (one was louder than the other) and my new 1200 Scrambler does it. I see you're driving on the left, what country is that?
It's not me that drive, video is being borrowed from YT. I drive on the correct side of road and that's right
I was pretty certain that Norway drove on the "wrong" side. Most, but not all countries driving on the left side are former British colonies. The "keep left" law was passed in Britain in 1835 as horse drawn traffic increased!
