There's good coppers, and bad coppers, then there's this bell end. Watch it till the end.

That was all the riders issue, what a bellend. There were so many wrong quotes there I don't even know where to start. Suffice to say if his attitude didn't stink so much he would have been away in 10 minutes :poop::poop: You can't knowingly put an illegal sized plate on a bike and then complain when you are ticketed for it, his bike was brand new so he had clearly ordered it specifically

I must admit I missed the number plate, as the door bell went, and I never pushed pause. So yes, I agree with you on that. That's why I've never put a small one on any of my bikes.

As far a number plates go, mine is smaller than the full size plate it came with but it's perfectly legible and doesn't take the p*ss. Technically still illegal as it is supposed to also show the makers name but I've had the police behind me on a couple of occasions recently with no hassle.

I also have suitable sized plates ;) but we both bought them with that knowledge and much like knowingly speeding we don't really have a leg to stand on if pulled for it so just accept the consequences and don't be an arse like that bloke and his missus :p

I have a slightly smaller plate on mine. its just the outer dimension between lettering and edge of the plate that has been reduced slightly but still meets the 11mm margin.
First screenshot is from a plate site sorry I tried deletung it.
The second is from the direct.gov site.

Pedant meets know all....Youtube at its worst, taking as much of your time as possible for nothing. Best thing is at least you can FF and not have to endure the whole thing in real time. Still don't get why PPL insist on having small number plates but their choice.

    Depends how small.
The genuine triumph tail tidy looks plain stupid with a standard size plate.
The slightly reduced still legal one looks much better.
I agree though where people reduce the spacing and font size its clear what u can and cant do

Did anything interesting happen as I lost the will to live very early on and switched off. Plod can stop any vehicle under thd TRA they don't "need" a reason to do so, so if bikermatey had an illegal plate the copper is quite entitled to book him for it. Add a twattish attitude and it's only going 1 way - downhill. Am I being harsh?

Not at all in my opinion and his rant about dark visors and their use in Moto GP was also a load of bollocks. We all know the rules regarding number plates, dark visits and lots of other things that we choose to do but at the end of the day we make our choices and have to face the consequences if all goes wrong. He simply failed the attitude test no matter what the Plod decided to do.

Last time I wore a dark visor was in 1994 when I dropped the Fireblade on a right hander. It was a late Summer evening ride, I was out longer than I anticipated, it was going dusk and what I didn't see was some flattened equestrian deposits in the LH lane. Big up for lids with flip down sun shades! :grinning:

When I got back in to riding 10 years ago I went for a Shark Vision R that served well, but needed to be replaced 2 years ago by a HJC RPHA 70. Both with the dropdown internal sun visor, makes life so much easier for me being a glasses wearer.
