I think there are a few on here with the 94 R hopefully they will reply All I can say is the new "S" is a great bike ready for the road straight out of the box and in my opinion (have owned both) better than the "R". So your choice but it would save you over a grand though! and looks a nice bike
I'm tempted as the part ex is top dollar for mine and its giving me a brand new untouched by others bike...... still only at 95% though as its the "older model"
Granted I've not yet tried the new model, but I ordered mine when I did as I wanted the (soon to be) old model. In my mind the rawness and simplicity of the bike (no engine modes etc, as per the new model) are one of the key factors of what the bike is about! As I say, I've not tried the new one, but I definitely love mine and have never regretted the purchase one bit! Could you not test ride an 'old' and new model and see which you prefer?
I bought my 2015 model last year when there were some cracking deals on extras thrown in as they normally do when a model is being replaced. Absolutely no regrets in buying an outgoing model, even after test riding the 2016 version a couple of months ago. Mine is the std version, and now the suspension is set properly, it is a fantastic road bike. The R version is a leap ahead again with the Ohlins suspension. If I was in the market now, would snap that one up, even if it is in the slower black colour!
I haved owned both and although I personally feel the new one is more refined , you cannot go wrong with the older model .I have done track days on both and had great days on both . If its a good deal and your happy , go for it. I also preffered the old models rawness off throttle as the new model seems muted which I assume is to do with euro 4 regs . Hopefully a pipe will sort this out.
Before you ask , I foolishly traded the yellow one in for a fireblade and missed it hence back with the speed again .Costly mistake.
The 94R is a belter. I could've gone with the 2016s, but opted for the 2015 R. And for that money, that is one hell of a bike. Sure there are a few little upgrades on the 2016, but are thy really needed. The speed had a heart and a soul, and is a mans bike. Rider aids? Yeah, whatever. (Sound like my daughter). I'm still delighted with mine, even though I know if idve waited 3 months idve saved another grand. By the 94R. You can always have it resprayed yellow Atb Bob
Had my 94R black for 3 weeks and love it, I toyed with the 16 but saving £2700 was a no brainer plus mine came with free twin arrow exhausts so a cracking deal at £8800. I like the fact it has no fly by wire/ traction/ modes etc etc all these electrics are they needed? People have been riding without them for years and I want to keep it that way. If I sell my Daytona it will be for a 16 fireblade just abs that will do me.
+1 on the above two posts, had a Multistrada 1200S Touring with all the toys for a couple of years before changing back to the 94R, don't miss them one bit. If you intend doing your own servicing after the warranty period buy the 94R, I doubt that will be a practical proposition on the newer model with all the additional electronics. (certainly wasn't for the Ducati!)
