Anyone ever come across anything like this before? I was riding up the road and thought my front nose (instrument, headlights) were very bouncy for want of a better word. Stopped and saw the split so turned home and it was a whole lot worse when i dismantled it. Internet has not thrown up anything like this as far as i can find. Part is off to the welders so fingers crossed. Thanks Paul
Apparently so. Said he'd put some additional bracing on it too but didn't bat an eyelid when he saw it. I at least hope he can cause i cannot find a used one for love nor monies and i dread to think what a new one would cost.
Tell me about it - that's why I asked as it is getting impossible to find many parts for my GT sprint. It's 2016 but looking on Fowler's website, so many parts are "no longer available" and ebay prices going up accordingly. I can see me getting rid of it in a few years. Good luck. Be interested to know ho you get on.
I welded mine after an off so don't see why not. Mine broke at the clock (other) end. 675 STR 2009 These are quite a hard brittle casting and so not very malleable, and will not accept any knocks, tweaking or adjustment. Wind and vibration has probably finished it off.
