Just got back from this event. I've been going to this event for a few years now, and I've never ever seen so many bikes there, as there were tonight. There must have been 1000+ bikes there. The weather was fantastic too. I did a video which I hope you can see. Best put the headphones on the hear them 4 Merlin's in all their glory.
As you could tell I was right next to the Lanc, and when that powered up, the ground was shaking. The power that them Merlin's chucked out was incredible. It took me 15 mins to get out, but it was well worth the wait. Home indoors for tea, about 20+ mins later
Just found out that there was 2166 bikes there, £5.00 to get in ( Normally £11.00 ) so that's £10,830 raised, and that's just the bikes. Some people turned up in cars, don't know how much they were charged. Plus the burger stands, and other stalls. They must have had a few bob extra to spend on refurbishment today, as a result of last night.
Wow! What an amazing event, @Bikerman! Thanks for all the great photos of both planes and bikes. It's absolutely stunning that there were over 2,000 bikes there! That's my kind of "party"! Looks like you (finally) got some good weather, too.
Sure have, and some people are moaning, " Oh it's too hot ", FFS what do these people want. Non stop rain and endless cloud, or a nice warm sunny day.
Great pics. I quite fancy one of those Indians...anyone else have one, owned one, ridden one? Cheers Brady
I agree, @Bikerman! I honestly think there are a lot of folks out there who just look for and like an excuse to complain. I know a few guys for whom it seems to have become a habit and their view of the world is, at most every instance, that "the glass is half empty".
Looks Great. Thanks for the post. Here's a link to the next one: https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/events/Bike_Night_16th_August.htm
