How was the engine on those fast French roads?

That cutting out issue is interesting. It happened on my bike just this week. Been out for a ride and was approaching the drive at home at slow speed and the bike cut out. It restarted immediately I hit the starter button.
I will monitor and the next time I’m in the dealers I will mention it to them.

This has happened several times on my Street Triple and to a few other Street Triple owners I have "talked" to online. Some of the dealers they went to about it told them it was a known fault, some of them said they had never heard of it happening. It has happened to me I think four times in the 18 months I have been riding the bike - mentioned it to the mechanic who did my 12000 mile service this week who had not heard of it but he did reset the neutral position adaption in case this could be the issue. It's obviously difficult to know whether this has made a difference or not because the fault is really infrequent.

The others with this issue who have been to a Triumph dealer said that the dealer just reinstalled the standard map.

It may be obviously that the faults on the Tiger Sport and the Striple have entirely different causes but I would be interested to know the outcome @Wessa.

Thanks for that @Mrs Visor. I will monitor my bike and updated on any reoccurrence and my conversation with my dealer. :)

The "dip clutch n engine dies" is well discussed on the other trident and tiger forums. I had it happen while on my skye trip, multiple times a day, across the week. The home mechanics solution is to remove the brass restrictor in the hose between MAP and throttle body. It now looks like a recall had been issued in the USA, so be interesting to see if it happens here too.

That's awesome, It's great to hear that you've made the switch to the Tiger 660 and are enjoying it so far. Sometimes downsizing can still bring plenty of excitement and satisfaction. The punchy engine and brilliant ride must make it a thrilling experience. The new bike looks fantastic. Enjoy many more amazing rides on your new Tiger 660.

Thanks. I must admit I was a little concerned, but in actual fact once you get used to having to give the bike some beans it is a hoot to ride. :)

I have created a new thread to cover the cutting out issue. Basically Triumph have recalled the tiger sport and trident to fix the problem. If you haven’t had a letter I would suggest you contact your dealer.

Looking to get a TS660 in the coming weeks after losing my trusted Honda NC700X DCT! Glad to read the positive feedback as well as seeing that issues that come up get addressed. Guess I should make sure the dealership had seen the recall and addressed it before I take delivery!
