I would love to be able to share a Mexican restaurant or two with you, @andypandy. We have so many Mexican restaurants here in Tucson that it boggles the mind. And most of those are GREAT Mexican restaurants! We are blessed with so many good places that we can actually choose where to go based on what we specifically want to eat...breakfast burritos here, fish tacos there, etc. I went to a place with some work mates a week or so ago and the menu was completely all Mexican seafood! We are quite spoiled by all this for ever eating at a Mexican food chain again. And when we travel someplace without great Mexican food, it's pretty much the first thing that Mr. Sandi and I both want to eat when we get back home.

As you are blessed with Mexican food, we are blessed with Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food. The quality is very good and due to the competition the prices are good although they have gone up considerably lately due to the war in Ukraine etc. My favourites are the Indian restaurants which are much fewer in my area but generally of a higher quality.

@Sandi T - great write up and photos as ever and I am obviously still envious of your weather (that won't change!!).

@Stephen Martin that looks like a lovely ride out!

Three of us went for a rideout yesterday starting from coffee at Squires.
It was a mixed day weatherwise that promised more than it delivered and so it was decided to take a look at the NY 500 place near Pickering.
Calimoto did it's thing and we kept off the main roads.

Food was ok, nothing special and the prices high for what it was. Some nice ornaments in there though.

We then had a blast over the moors to Whitby. Earlier it was cool but up on top it went down to 9 degrees and with my summer bike jeans on it was definitely nippy with the wind blast.

Next port of call: the whistlestop cafe in the old railway buildings with motorcycle parking right outside the door.

Better priced food, good quality and a nice selection, tea and cakes were our aim so once choices were made I ordered a buttered scone for one, a millionaire's shortbread for the other and a salted caramel cheesecake for me :yum

I spied the curry and rice option and that looked real nice so noted for next time..... recommended cafe.

160 miles or so round trip on a rather cooler than expected day, odd bit of visor wiping for drizzle but dry roads throughout so a rather pleasant ride around.

Been clear coating, always a bit stressy. And, bugger me, there was an issue, but it's sorted now.....

Finished buttoning up a handlebar swap that I started on Monday, just needed to route the extended brake line a bit better.

As I was due to meet a friend tomorrow morning, I took her out for a little run in preparation and managed to pick this up….

I've been to NY500 a couple of times and the best thing about it are the bikes and race/rally cars on display.
It is expensive and a limited menu and, at least when I've been, no one seems to talk to you, unlike other places.
Certainly can catch you out over the moors as the temperature can significantly vary!
Whistle Stop Cafe is one of my favourites - a decent ride for me, good, cheap food and always someone to chat to.

Just a quick outing to our local monthly Sunday car / bike meet for us today (on the Street Triple and Nightstorm) as I am feeling rough still following some post root - canal abscesses and didn't really feel up to much. It was nice to get out as friends of ours were coming over to meet us there as well and the weather was gorgeous :).
