Basically didn't suit his riding so he's plumped for something a bit more upright.

got ya, it’s taking me a while to get used to my R, I’m 750 miles in now, after an hour or so in the saddle I can feel it a bit on my butt & wrist’s, but I’ve had a gap of 30 years since bike ownership and I’m getting old :) but I love the bike and I mostly go out for 30-50 miles rides with the occasional longer trip. If I was doing touring then the ST 765 would be my second bike if I could afford another… :)

Absolute stonker - love that colour, nice to see Triumph have finally woken up to yhe idea of bright colours again!

Have to confess to taking one out for a test ride myself on Friday from A1 Moto in York, as I've always liked the idea of one and they are a lot lighter than the Tiger.

I knew it would be fast and handle well but I didn't think it would feel so refined or be as comfortable. I was out for almost two hours following an hours journey to get there on the Yamaha, but surprisingly no aches and pains. :grinning:

Loved the gear change - makes the quickshifter on my Tiger feel like a bag of old spanners!

That is gorgeous:cool:, seems like you snagged a bargain at just the right time. That yellow and the graphics really pop.

    Enjoy the ride:)

Actually, there is just one thing I didn't like about it and that's the TFT dash. The previous generation ST had a decent TFT display but Triumph have seen fit to give the new model the same screen as the one on the Tiger 900.
That's thexstupid "bat-wing" rev counter display, which is rubbish. Worse, the screen on the ST is 5" not 7" so it's really hard to read all the info (for an old git like me) and the tachometer is even more useless!

Have to agree, its hard to glance at the rpm's on mine too. I wish they still put the proper shift lights on the dash at least

I was looking to swop my 2021 R for a new one and the thing that stopped me was the display. My R has a large circular tacho which is brilliant.

It's one thing I like about my GSXR compared to the Street, a decent large tacho and proper shift lights.

I’ve got the new R and I have no issues with the dash at all, most of the chat I’ve read and come across is the R is better the the RS, lots of people moaning about it. Test ride it and take it from there….

I really like the shift lights on the dash on mine, you can't really miss them!

And you can configure their activation in two or three different options. I have mine set at 9.5k where max torque occurs. Couldn’t see any point in setting them where the rev limiter cuts in.

When I had the daytona, you could set the shift lights really low so they were flashing pretty much all the time. At night the clear screen would light up blue from the lights. Traffic seemed to really get out of your way :joy:

I have mine set to 11,500 rpm so my peripheral sees the colour change and I don't need to really look at the clocks (2018).

I don't sign up to this " continous Improvement (CI)" nonsense!
What it really means is something that is better for us to produce (cheaper, missing off, easier to manufacture) but we can still charge the customer the same or more for it and, of course, they're still happy : unamused:

E.g. Triumph 765 gap near the clocks.... yet they sell an accessory.... bloody cheeky if you ask me.
The size of current day chocolate bars..... didn't they used to be called " fun size" when they were that small?

Mine are set the same @Baza but not for any intelligent reason like you thought about, I just set them there!
