Another great artist has gone. A life lived well and lived long, Tina Turner was easily up there with the likes of Aretha Franklin, the energy and presence she brought to her singing, concerts and acting was truly impressive.

I remember listening to Ike and Tina Turner in my high school years, although she was a bit older than me. I think I first heard her in about 1962. By then they were already an established act. Before the Beatles. Before the Rolling Stones. Before the Viet Nam War. Good she ditched her deadbeat husband. ...J.D.

Can't really think of anyone to touch her raunchy rock style. Certainly one of the best.

Yeh as said a truly one off, a wide legged dancer( a style I have often relief on while worse for wear ) and to coin her own words Simply the Best.
RIP Tina, remembered with great admiration.

Goldeneye was arguably one of last great bond soundtracks in my opinion.

Saw Tina a few times, was there at the NEC when Bryan Adams was support and a certain David Bowie was her special guest, my hair (I had some then) stood on end when the spotlight hit him.
Second time I saw her I was in 3rd row from the front on the right hand side, I can honestly say those legs were amazing up close. Her voice was incredible, surely an all time great. Yes Tina, you were Simply The Best and I wish you were my Private Dancer.

Yes very sad. Loved all her songs. And compared to the life she had here. Then she will surely be welcomed in heaven. Rest in peace dear lady you earned this rest. God Bless.

Her early stuff brings me back to a place long gone in my life. Late 50s-early 60s party scene in LA. Parties every weekend. Me young and stupid. We all have to grow up. The world got complicated. You either got serious about life, or it got even MORE complicated. ...J.D.

RIP, Tina. She was a ground-breaker. If you haven't yet seen the movie, Tina, I highly recommend it. What a singer. What an artist. What a woman.
