Hi all, I'm new to the forum and new to the Speed Triple but loving it so far. I've recently acquired a 2011 model year Speedy in glorious diablo red with the delightful twin Arrows poking out the back. Only issue is it came without the baffles and although I'm not averse to a bit of noise, it really is a bit too loud for my liking and having some hearing issues is making my longer runs a little uncomfortable. My understanding is that the baffles (or DB killers as they are sometimes known) are no longer manufactures by Arrow - would anyone know if there is a company who produces replicas or someone has some tucked away in their garage forgotten about? Only other solution I can think of is to buy other cans and I really rather like the look of the Arrows. Any help or advice gratefully received. Tilly
Hi Tilly. I think you'll probably find it very difficult to get genuine, original ARROW baffles as they haven't been available for some time for early Speed or Street Triple Arrow silencers. If someone can provide dimensions you might find it easier to get 'generic' baffles from somewhere like AliExpress - for instance https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...6111e81ee!12000025436153279!rec!UK!2901663435 These appear to come in a range of sizes listed as : Fitment: 3.5cm: for Exhaust pipe dia. 3.4-3.6cm 4.2cm: for Exhaust pipe dia.4.1-4.2cm 4.5cm: for Exhaust pipe dia. 4.4-4.5cm 4.8cm: for Exhaust pipe dia. 4.7-5.0cm 6.0cm: for Exhaust pipe dia. 6.0-6.3cm and there are quite a few suppliers listing shorter/lomger versions. Good luck with your search.
Welcome Tilly. I did have some in the garage but gave them to the dealer when I traded my 2014 Speedy in last year. As a aside, do you not wear earplugs when riding? Make big difference and protect your hearing from wi d noise.

Hi Dawsy, thanks for your reply - yes I've been wearing ear plugs but honestly it doesn't seem to make much difference. In fact when I forgot my ear plugs last time out it somehow seemed less resonant, made no sense to me but maybe it was just the position the plugs were in?
I'd not recommend buying cheap db killlers, I got some off amazon for my Thruxton end cans. The metal is very thin; <1mm and the thread for securing is where the metal is punched through as opposed to a nut, therefore you can't apply much torque to tighten it without stripping the thread. With this in mind I welded an M6 nut inside them to allow proper tightening up, this was initially ok but cheap thin metal didn't like being welded so was weakened, this combined with the heat from normal exhaust usage meant that one has broke away and came out sometime during sunday's ride.....The nut and bolt still there but no db killer! I've bought some mild steel tube of thicker wall thickness and going to weld up some decent ones
Thing with the Arrow dB killers is they are like a diamond shape on the fastener end so tubular ones will not fit.

Just what my concern was tbh! Did you have the same problem as me? Someone removed the baffles and didn't supply them with the bike?
No mine was a different problem I'd made some new end cans which needed some baffles to queiten it down. Thought I'd got a cost effective solution, but should have just made them in the first place. That's now the top of the jobs list!
