A quick ride out to the ZOOM cafe with a mate on his MT07 tracer. Definitely cooler today than yesterday and the roads dustier with salt. .. and thought I'd have a Latte and BLT for a change
What is worrying is the potential for a syrupy disaster with a pot of syrup to pour over the pancakes behind your meal that are on a flat board . Looks nice though .
Lol.....keen eye @Mrs Visor .... my err.... tubby mate on the mt07 made me laugh when he ordered that. He gave me some discussion on why people shouldn't always pick bacon and a full breakfast as its too many calories. He then proceeded to order pancakes and syrup, sugar and carb overload When he'd finished he said "what do I do now with the kids cricket bat?" It is nice food there and I'd recommend it.
Nothing unusual, just another run into the Peak District after lunch, past the now overflowing reservoirs. Remember the hysteria back in August/September when they were barely 25% full. Dry and very dusty roads, just as others have found. We need some overnight heavy rain to wash all the sh*te away. When the bike gets covered in dry salt dust I use the industrial vac with a soft brush on the end and an airline which gets most of it off prior to washing.
If you scrub your adjustable levers against a wall, or similar, and scratch them but then think of how best to repair them, note the following. Previous owner had scrubbed the ball ends and so being aluminium showed silver rash on black levers. No problem says I ..... a quick strip, powdercoat and rebuild. Well life (& death) gets in the way and so time rolls on. Some of you may remember I had these powdercoated a few months back and they've sat in the workshop waiting patiently ever since. With hindsight, probably not worth the effort for £50 /pair. You'd need a super slim socket just to get them apart and thats after resolving the previous threadlock.
I wonder if something like this could be used touch up damaged powder coating, maybe with a heat gun? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26611514...osg1tMacxHeszWO8npnGsHYLK7ay|tkp:BFBM5pWH_8hh
How would you get it to stick prior to heat? Plus I'm not sure that would look right as initially you would be repairing anodising not powdercoating.
If the item is small enough to suspend/insulate you could induce a static charge in it to attract the powder and make it stick well enough to avoid being blown away by the heat gun. The finish might be good enough to touch up small scrapes in not too obvious places.
@Armando Morales Ahhhhh, Armondo, that photo is absolutely gorgeous! What a setting. I think you could turn that into a poster and sell lots of them. Or at the very least hang that one on your wall. Beautiful! How was the ride itself. Looks like the weather was cooperative, too.
Thanks Sandi weather? sunny, not too cold 9C was the lowest, and 31C the warmest the camp site charged $7 / person fresh fish cooked at the kitchen $15 cold beer $1/can no cell coverage, but wifi available at $3/day Nice 2 lane twisty roads , the danger was getting distracted by the views Ride destination : Maruata, beautiful beach on the pacific coast About 700kms round trip
Wow! I want to be there right now! That spot on the is absolutely beautiful, Armando. I need to look it up on the map and scheme on a plan to possibly get to that beach. But I suspect that play might include acquiring an adventure bike.
Sandi, I'll be happy to show you around if you make this far south of the border! But, riding the Baja will likely give you similar experiences, and it is way closer
Today i was mostly getting an MOT! Passed with no advisory, not bad for a 25 year old, the tester praised the beauty and build quality! Bring on the sunshine!!!
Not my sort of Triumph but at least now your ready for summer. That's a very nice Yamaha 490 that looks in excellent fettle.
Not your sort ?? ... what ???? Have a look at that thing poking out in front of the driveside muffler .. what more could anyone want ? That was basically the selling point for me ..sorta ! Nowhere near as nice as L62's, although the same year .. even been told by the uncaring that it " Looks like a piece of shit ! " Little do people like that understand a bet with mates is a bet ... and WE WON ... made 18 months without any form of a wash (apart from rain) or clean .... the bike that is !! Who cares what they think when it's carried you 600 + miles in a day and you can still walk .. a little stiffly... actually a lot stiffly to be truthful. Twelve years on tho' the only real letdown was the ignition pickup shitting itself .. quite common around those year models apparently, so I still think about marrying it sometimes. I go now to give it a cuddle.
