A little video from our recent trip to the Picos De Europa!

Sorry it's not great, I def no computer whiz so this is the best I can manage! Also the GoPro was mounted onto the bike with an extension which ended up meaning A LOT of vibration.

    Cheers!

Looks like you had a great time.

Been to the Picos quite a few times myself, stayed in Paradors and hotels.

What type of accommodation/standard did you used @MattGaydon.

I've lost count of the number of times I've travelled around the Picos, but it's always been a real pleasure.

Back in the day the roads were absolutely dire to drive on, let alone ride: but now they're excellent - and biking heaven. A beautiful area of Spain with a great combination of coast and mountain

We usually travel over there on Brittany Ferries and then stay in their contracted hotels, paradors, etc, by packaging both together you get a good deal overall and we've never had any accommodation we felt was poor but plenty that we've returned to. The ferry from Plymouth to Santander takes about 20 hours and we treat it as part of the holiday, a chance to have a drink or two, relax and enjoy the French cuisine on-board.

Some photos from over the years:

Yep the road up to the bear is pretty cool! And the road to the stag before that!!

And the Hotel Del'Oso was incredible, best hotel of our holiday I'd say!

Did you route plan Matt, or just wing it. I have a trip booked in June this year with my two lads. Most Picos De Europa maps I can find online are hiking & walking orientated. Do you know of any motorcycle tour maps of the area?

I was lucky...a friend of mine planned all the routes! I can see if I can find the GPX routes for you? Although we made a quite massive detour down to Madrid to drop someone at the airport!
