Body recovered from track day flogging, so went for a lovely summer pub lunch. Highway 16 repairs made it a fun and safe ride (after recent years ). Weather was overcast, so not too hot Spoilt ourselves with the lunch, from the new menu (no laksa ) Great bike parking within sight of tables. Oysters with gin and tonic foam Ribs with coleslaw Prawn linguine
That looks like a great day out eating and riding, @Dartplayer! Looking forward to that promised thread about your track day, too.
@Dartplayer I'd take your weather, oysters and repaired roads in an instant!! Your rideout looks lovely. We have been fog - and - ice bound for what seems like ages!!!
I have a set of auxiliary lights, the triumph dealer told me not to cut any wires for the installation, so I just wired directly to the battery ... this was ok for a few months but I frequently left them on and the battery was not affected, until this past weekend. There was a bit of a problem when I arrived at a restaurant with my group, and in the rush to helping forgot the light again .. the meal took a while and the battery ran low, lucky someone had a set of jump wires and we were off in no time. Long story to say I finally wired the relay of the lights to the rear light it is the yellow wire in the connector located under the seat and under the cell phone charger
Started putting newly rebuilt powder coated / anodised suspension back on the Thruxton. Couldn’t bolt yoke clamps up ‘cos wasn’t happy with painting on steering stem nut so done it again. Got a few more ideas for its winter uplift but happy with these bits.
P/S .. what brand are the reverse cone " mufflers, " they have the look of being able to give that 'nasty' sound that the 270o engines can give, without being overly loud. Asking for a friend ...
Not much other than run it up for an hour. Cant wait to get it MOT`d come spring. Once again started 2nd revolution of the engine so well chuffed with the work i did on it before xmas. Fan came on & works a treat. Once MOT`d i`ll put it up for sale as i wont use it much if at all. I`m just happy to resurrect one
They're Westlake Shorty Pro cans and yes combined with the removal of the cat make it sound like a motorbike should!
Got his and hers out in the sun for a pre season check over and clean. The 2001 Suzuki has only 1495 miles on the clock and had never had MOT , it was stored as part of a large collection a year after purchase that the collectors family didn’t know about until he passed
Sunday ride with another Tiger 900 and a HD street A more relaxed ride, the HD struggles with the broken pavement that the Tiger's just ride over without a second thought A nice sunny Sunday with good company, breakfast was tacos with birria, the place was full with a long line standing outside, the owner was giving away free cookies to the people on line to keep them motivated The wait was not even 10 minutes
"Mondo". On my America, if you got the whole factory kit, it came with the factory plug-in relay and all the original wiring harness and would go on and off with the ignition switch.[ I wonder if Triumph did the same on your model]. I added the factory kit to mine a couple of years ago. I am now converting them to LED's to save power when they are on and using yellow LED's to make me more visible in California traffic. Here are the bulbs I am using [available on the internet] ...J.D.
Today I waited until 10am for it to ‘warm up’ to zero Celsius, then after brushing the frost off my bike seat headed off down to the Cotswolds Rode on quite a few new-to-me roads, some planned and some forced by random road closures, and after 6 hours and 180 miles arrived back home.
Me I spent all day continplaten burning the ba###rd bike calmed down abit from that but still it's a thought
That's a long ride for such a cold day, @brown mouse! What gear do you wear for a ride like that of today? Beautiful photo, BTW.
