As you can see from the pic, the cable adjuster is right over one way, not in the middle as it should be. My question is, why? And what's likely to happen if I move it back to the middle? Bear on mind the clutch does seem OK and though a little heavy doesn't slip or catch or do anything abnormal Ta guys.
How far is the adjuster screwed in/out at the clutch lever on the handlebar? If it's still fully screwed in, I would back off the one on the clutch arm, and take out some of the slack with the handlebar adjuster, the clutch arm adjuster is sort of the course setting, leaving the handlebar adjuster as a sort of fine adjustment.
No all the way out. Kind of in the middle. My concern is what will happen when I centre the adjuster by the actuator arm. Can I level it out by the lever adjust or is it gonna show a clutch problem..... Gonna fix if I can on Sunday...
Clutch will be on its way out. My shyster was all the way out and my clutch when rideing was slipping like crazy. I adjusted the mechanism next to the clutch basket like the one in the photo however probably 3-4 threads to the right to what you have. This then enabled me to wind in the adjuster on the lever to about 3-4 threads showing. Clutch is now spot on. As before you had to let it all the way out for it to bite. And also there is 10-20 play in the clutch lever before it starts to disengage. Hope this helps.
Clutch doesn't slip on mine, though seems to vibrate when hard accelerating past 8k and the gear chance is mega clunky from 1St to 2nd. Low load and revs it's fine. Gonna tackle it in an hour or so, see if I can adjust to spec and get it to work. I suspect there's a prob with clutch basket or a bearing down there tho. Have little or no play at lever and it's a little stiff too. Best Tey greasing the cable too. It's not snagged. Fingers crossed. Ta all
