Ferry tickets, Hull-Rotterdam and Kiel-Oslo for me my lad and our bikes. Arctic circle here we come. August does feel a long off now.
Yeah looked at it but Oslo is a lot further North than Kristiansand so we start much further North in Norway. We should easily reach Lillehammer on our first day on Norway. The major bike tours (motorad etc) all seem to use Kiel-Oslo and I would think they have looked at the best routes. Oslo is 320km up the road from Kristiansand and we have only a limited amount of time.
I suppose that makes sense then, having limited time. For me, I'd sacrifice a day not having to go on the German motorways...
Just booked and paid for the Isle Of Man TT, Southern 100 and Manx Grand Prix, the cost has risen a lot since last year though, I fell in love with the place when I first visited in 1967, I have returned in excess of 80 times since then, and I am still finding hidden gems around the island (unfortunately not diamonds) although they do exist on the fingers of the rich inhabitants no doubt. I must have paid for the tourism chiefs expensive house in ferry ticket costs over the years. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.
I hope to be at the TT this year too. I will stay with family in Douglas and look to book my ferry in the week or two before the event as cancellations keep popping up. Where are you staying ?
Hi Andy and hope you are well, I am staying in self catering accommodation in Port Erin for the TT and S100, then the Sulby Glen Hotel for the MGP.
Bought a cover to keep the dust of the bike , while it is parked under a roof it is open on the sides and we're coming to the dusty season - dry and windy.
Another new pair of boots for the Berg. Gone for a med/hard compound this time as the hard rock trails and necessary roadwork destroy anything wearing a "soft" badge.
Nothing strange about it, it's something else to spend money on...some people spend more than others.
