Invaluable. Find Me app on iphones. After my missus went "roamin' in the gloamin'" years ago we got mobile phones for such events, cos I could not find her for 20 minutes. Thought she had ran out of petrol. Went all the way back to the petrol station, to no avail then started slowing down at the corners and looking out into the gloom, eventually finding the right corner. Her and the bike, miles away from each other and the road. (Wet roads, too fast into a corner, squeezed front brake and went straight on and down, hit a rock and went flying.) A week in Oban hospital getting fixed up. She was treated like the star patient, with everybody and there Auntie amongst the staff, all being excited about being introduced to her various breaks and bruises, covers whipped back, no blushes spared. She is still the record holder for consecutive nights stayed after an off out the lot of us who ride or had ridden. A mate could not stay on his Bindit400 either. Should have known better than to get her one! The two of us these days getting off the couch, sound like somebody doing a Rubix Cube. Careful now!
I also prefer to ride alone. And more for safety reasons. Maybe I don't worry so much about myself, and that's why I can sometimes go nuts on my bike. But if I have someone with me behind me, I worry about the other person, as if something might happen. About the apps - totally agree, useful stuff. Hi all
