    Hi guys,

Just realised I have had a complete breakdown in organisation and my NCD is 2 years and 3 months old!!!

Anyone know which bike insurers accept NCD upto 3 years old? :)

    Thanks

Not really sure what you mean? My NCB is over 9 years old. That’s only because most insurance companies only count NCD up to 9 years. It should be over 40 years.

Oh sorry, yup I didn't really explain it properly

I have 14+ years of NCD and my last bike insurance policy expired in June 2020 which is 2 years 3 months ago. I have been off the road since then.

The usual practice is that if you don't renew your insurance within 2 years of your NCD proof then it lapses.

So I'm looking for bike insurers who accept NCD which is upto 3 years old (lapsed upto 3 years). :)

You could try going back to your previous insurer as they may cut you some slack, also I believe Adrian Flux (not my favourite) are quite lenient. I think the best thing to do is go back to old school insurance searching and ring each one directly as they may give you something.

As you say, this seems to be accepted practise. Just another "non-bonus" of the racket which is motor insurance.

I'm currently with Bennetts and they too have the stipulation that any NCB can only be 'dormant' for two maximum. If the insurance / NCB has lapsed for more than two years, then it's lost and you have to start again accruing years
