I've Avon storms on my 900 Thunderbird, 36F 42R. Similar bikes. Never mixed tyres always put the same front and rear. Don't know enough about tyres to comment if that's a good idea or not. A mechanic friend many moons ago said you should never mix tyres, and I never have.

    Ok thanks for the info,
I have never mixed tyres before but I was in a rush to get something for the MOT.
Think I will look for the same make tyre for the front

Plus one on the AVON STORM. I have them on my Thunderbird Sport and they suit the bike vey well ..... excellent grip; progressive and suited to the weight of the T3s.

It's always better to use matched front and rear but as long as they're both the same bias ply then mixing manufacturers won't do any real harm - you just won't be getting the best out of the bike or the tyres. IMHO.

Round Black Made of good Grade Rubber is Best !

Tyres are so similar from one manufacturer to the next , that so long as the tyre bias and sizes are within one band of recommendations they should be fine !

Most rider's have a bias for tyres that they "FEEL" comfortable on. But rubber is rubber nowadays ! The shape/profile affects how "We" as rider's feel on them more than the brand !! I just Chuck whatever is cheapest or available :p
Been doing this for years and years.
    94 trident , 2000 sprint , 09 America.
Just put round black hoops on and ride ;)
