I did my usual commute today with a little extra travel between sites added in - beautiful weather and the route between the work sites is also a beauty, so all good .
Yesterday actually. Rode escort to a good friend from his funeral in church to his burial at a nearby cemetery. One of his relatives on a black Honda Rebel rode alongside as well. He was carried in a sidecar hearse attached to a T120 black. He would have loved the sight and sound of those three twins. His last bike was an imported black Honda Valkyrie, which sadly he had to sell about 11 years ago when he developed a series of crippling diseases. I met him about a year ago when he and I were staying on the same cardiac ward (his pacemaker/defibrillator was failing and I had myocarditis). He was the kindest, most compassionate, interesting and interested person you could hope to meet, with a lovely close family (who will miss him enormously). It was a truly positive funeral and whilst its a bit of a cliché; our loss is certainly Heaven's gain. I'm glad I have a bike to have been able to do that for him.
I used my wife's Bonnie today for the ride to and from the office so she wouldn't have to stand so sadly in the garage while my honey is working abroad. A few of my colleagues were irritated for a short time, as they suspected another motorcycle change on my part. After a brief explanation that it was only a motion ride, everyone was reassured again.
got a text from a mate saying he's just bought a used Harley and if i fancied a run this afternoon with another mate who also has a Harley, so the 3 of us went up past Banchory and took the Slug Rd down to Stonehaven for Fish and chips stopped of at Ballater for a coffee then headed on past Ballater where we took the slug Rd down to Stonehaven which is a great fun Rd Stonehaven harbour
Today I did the same like yesterday with the TIGER 900 of my wife and used it for a ride to and from the office. This time my colleagues weren`t irritated.
Not yet - and that'll be a while, too! She's still getting used to her striple. We're off to Limburg in the South for a long weekend on the bikes 1st weekend of September.
Had a lovely run up to Glencoe with a couple of mates, stopped for lunch at the Clachaig, then home along the loch laggan Rd to Dalwhinnie then cut off at Calvine to take the back road to Pitlochry and home via the Moulin Moor view point opposite the turn off to the Clachaig Car park at the Clachaig
