Eventually I plan to install an aluminum fairing by Omega on my 2005 Thruxton 900. They have two versions, one that is a copy of the Thruxton 1200 fairing and a Big Fairing a copy from the 1970’s I believe. I’m interested to know what mods are required, I have clip-ons which seem to be required. One mentioned other mods to gauges and so on. Not sure what that means so I’d like input. Also the headlight is a question mark, since the original contains a bunch of wiring. Would appreciate information on that as well if anyone has such experience. This is not a hurry item for me, but something I want to plan. Thanks for y’all’s advice in advance. Apologies. Can’t seem to delete the photos. No relevance. I’ll see if I ca remove them later. Oh well since I can't seem to remove them, This was my sump guard install. Enjoy and please consider giving advice on the OP topic. Thanks. LoL.
I give up. Tried editing, tried adding pics of what I want to install. Ended with double photos which I can’t delete. I don’t recall posting pictures was this difficult when I’ve previously posted them. Sorry.
This might require a rectifier relocation and a turn signal relocation as well. It will be part of my investigation!
I have an Omega Racer fairing on my Thruxton 1200RS.... beautifully made. These fairings are actually made for the air cooled 900 models, not the R/RS. I had to modify the mountings to fit my RS and added the low clip ons . As for the early Thruxton models.... the fairings will bolt straight on. I did relocate the instrument position... 50mm down, 50mm forward and angled steeper to directly face the rider. This was not a necessity, just my preference. As you can see in the photos, I keep my fairing polished to a mirror finish. The fairing appears to be based on the 1200 R/RS OEM accessories fairings.... actually similar, but with several subtle differences in shape...and the obvious difference in that it is hand made as a one piece item. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.154831090435958&type=3
