I'll bet the floor in the room above has to come up, too, doesn't it? Just to add more mess and misery .....

Hope you get it sorted - SOON!

Above is the loft where the ball (float) came off the valve :poop:
Surprising how much water under mains pressure comes out in under 90 minutes : unamused:

Could have been much worse but six rooms fooked at once isn't much fun

HOLY SCHMOLEY GUACAMOLE, Eldon! That is NOT funny.

Can only offer you sympathy and hopes for a swift resolution to what is, clearly, a frightful situation.

    Good luck with it.

Mr. Sandi and I had a main water pipe situated in an attic space about a month after Covid lockdowns began. I agree--it's unreal how much water explodes out when under pressure. Fortunately we were able to turn off the main valve for all water to the house relatively quickly but not before four rooms flooded. We had a huge mess to clean up over a long period of time so I truly empathize with you, @Eldon. :sob:

Had to replace kitchen units, kitchen floor and a few joists when a filter housing burst. Horrible at the time, but I did find the rotten joists and floorboards, so some good came of it.

It's great to see that people take the time to do these things. I'll bet a lot of work went into making them all.
