As some of you will know, if you've seen an earlier thread on the subject, we sometimes arrange a house sit to look after pets whilst the owner goes away. This is via a website and we do it for fun not as a business but get to see different parts of the country and stay in some interesting places. (plus I get to ride around the area) Covid obviously buggered that up for a while and moving back up to Yorkshire has kept us busy but we started again in April at a small village called Kirklington about half way between Masham and Ripon. This is Tinker and Belle - mother and daughter working Cocker Spaniels. Without doubt the best trained dogs we've ever sat for - one blow of the whistle and they stop immediately - two blows and they run back to you. Tinker is going deaf so would just watch what the younger one did and copy her. In the car - both in the passenger footwell and off to sleep! People ask "do you get paid?" - no we don't but then our accommodation is free - how much would this cost you per week? It's a hard life! Handy motorcycle parking at Pateley Bridge - a popular stop for bikers with a handy fish and chip shop in the high street. Yes, I bought loads A trip to Ripon - cathedral in the distance.
@steve lovatt: Is there an organization behind this, or is this a random "find" when selecting new destinations?
It's a company called Trusted House-sitters - you have to sign up to them and pay a small annual fee - check them out online
Ha ha…. I don’t somehow think you will be starving mate. Congratulation on starting the next phase of your life in which what you do now is in your hands or perhaps the wife’s

What a cool thing to do to "see the world", Steve! We could use a dog sitter for Ellie but it might be a wee bit too far to travel for you. I'd let you ride my Speed Triple. Ok, and the Harleys, too, if you'd have 'em.
Brilliant Sandi. I would love to take you up on your kind offer, especially if I can ride the bikes - happy to give the Harleys a go - when in Rome Sadly though just a little too far for us
Perhaps some day, Steve, particularly if you win the lottery. Or if Mr. Sandi and I win the lottery! Then we can just buy you airline tickets and fly you to Tucson. But us winning the lottery is a long shot....since we never buy tickets.
I'd drink it out of anything if you'd get your hands in that black hole you call a pocket and pay for it
