This has probably been mentioned before but if it has I can't find details on this forum. One of my Hondas is currently at the menders in Lincolnshire. When it's sorted it will need to be transported back to me in Cheshire. It can't be ridden because it's without its' fairing, indicators or lights. These were removed to save the mechanic time and the risk of damage. So I'm looking for a reputable company to do the moving from there to here. Does anyone have first hand experience of someone they entrusted their bike to?
Never had any need for bike transport, so can't help mate. There are few on the internet and I hope you get a good recommendation.
There are quite a few on the internet, as you say, which is why I'd like personal recommendations. I looked at the Shipley site a couple of years ago but I'm wary of ending up with some bloke who's rented a van to transport his house contents and reckons there's room for a bike on top of the wardrobe, wedged in with curtains. The last chap I used was pretty good until he branched out and started shifting all sorts of stuff as well as bikes. My Honda ended up next to a chest of drawers, which had a bench tied on top, and several massive tins of paint up against the wheels. Fortunately everything turned out ok but I don't want a repeat of that.
Staffordshire Triumph have a mover on their books - I've used him and he is superb. Can't find his number but Staffs Triumph will have it. Hope this helps
