As the title says really. Any ideas? Someone told me it's a 15 litre tank with 110 mile range but after 110 miles I'm not even getting 10 litres in a refill. Also, how much range is left when the fuel light comes on? I know this is all dependent on how I ride etc
I don't know the specs for your Bonnie; to experiment I'd run it until the fuel light comes on, then fill it to the brim; the amount you put in plus a couple of litres will be the tank capacity. Range is entirely dependent on how you ride, clearly you're quite economic if your exceeding the predicted 110 mile range. To get an idea of your fuel consumption, make a note of the miles when you fill, brim it and make a note of the amount of fuel you put in: repeat this for several fill ups and you'll begin to work out an average mpg. (There are 4.54 litres in a UK gallon). Once you know your mileage, you'll know roughly how much range you have when the fuel light comes on; it won't be much because there's probably only half a gallon or so in reserve. e.g. if you're averaging 50 mpg then reserve will give you about 25 miles. Hope that helps.
@SteveXFR & @RevPaul , my experience with my 865 America, 19 litre tank capacity ! Did ~320 km and ran out at the Bowser! I didn't see when the fuel light first came on , but it was lit at 270 odd . I put ! 19.2 ! Litres in !! So they will run until EMPTY ... So that's ~10 miles to the litre or 46/47 miles per gallon. My bike was Towing and Two Up and had 905 big bore kit ... Dyno tuning done to suit ! Hope the bit about full to empty helps !
You should be getting 150 miles from a full tank with the SE. I used to go to 140 and then fill up. Ignore the warning light, it comes on when it feels like it! Zero the trip meter when you fill up and go by that
I have 2014 865 alloy wheel Bonnie , I get approx 150/160 until the light comes on , then I fill it to the brim
