Managed to find one of me at the 2018 Solent ride and my Bonneville SE. Start point was outside the Guildhall in Winchester.

I'll be on the DGR in Cirencester. Was going to take my Thunderbird but I haven't had time to fix the carbs yet . Soon will have as I retire in two weeks
So it's a bsa bantam that will carry me . 21 mile ride and I'll be last ! Trust me the world's much bigger on a bantam .

I made sure my outfit was ready yesterday evening, so I could go to a shop if needed still today :yum. All set to go, although not in tweed, I don’t have a tweed jacket, but dapper it will be :D

I'm fifth in line behind the lead bike stopped at a set of lights. Decided to take a couple of pictures

At this point the lights changed - I have one glove balanced on the tank and I can't get my phone into my jacket pocket. Tried to ride forward with phone in right hand and stalled the bike - minor hold up, nothing to see :D

Half way stop outside the Castle Museum and Clifford's Tower.

Having started this thread I am particularly disappointed to report that DGR Solent was a bit of a shambles this year!

A key venue was cancelled, our first stop (a pub) wasn’t open for food or drinks yet and the other was just not ready for 100+ Bikers and ran out of food!

On the plus side, it was a good group ride with a bunch of like minded bikers.

Oh yes, I rode my LC today so apologies to any Triumph diehards out there. :p

Sorry the organization was less than stellar, @Geoff Butler, but it sounds like the turnout was great and that you had a good time in spite of the snafus. I'd love to see a better photo of that interesting helmet you have.

I thought I'd write down my impressions of my very first DGR. I took part in Genk, Belgium. It was the fifth time in a row a DGR was hosted in Genk. This year there were around 180 bikes registered. We rode from Genk to the city of Tongeren (the oldest city in Belgium, famous for Ambiorix and the Romans). There we had a lunch break and then we took the same road back to Genk.

The weather was lovely, A little warmer than predicted, so at the halfway mark, I had to lose one of my base layers.

I was very impressed with how (almost) everybody came dressed appropriately and also behaved appropriate. Riding in such a large group was quite the experience for me. Though due to the low speed, I could at times really feel the engine heat near my legs.

The ride was very well organized. We had road captains present who temporarily shut off any intersections or roundabouts, so the ride could keep on moving without having to worry about other road traffic. Also the federal motorcycle police was present at the start, the re-start and the end, to guide the group at some large intersections, to large for the road captains.

For the lunch break, there were food & drink trucks present and the possibility for a bathroom break. When we came back to starting location there was a small festival ongoing at the site, where we were expected to hand out the prices for the top 3 fundraisers.

Genk is an old coal mining city, the start of the ride was on site of the old mine, in front of the main building (picture borrowed from the web).

Some pictures I (and other participants) took before the start.

Some pictures, just before we got underway.

There were also some sponsored prizes for the rest of the top 10 fundraisers, As mentioned above, the top 3 got their prizes at the end, but the rest of the top 10 got theirs during the lunch break. I didn't know there would be prices, but it was a nice surprise, as I myself was number 7! Thanks again to @Octoberon & @Dartplayer for pitching in.

I got this nice vinyl figurine from the Joe Bar comics. IMG_1793.JPEG

What a great set of pictures! If that doesn't encourage people to do it next year I don't know what will!

I really enjoyed your DGR report, @TheBeardedPunk! Thanks so much for sharing your impressions and for taking lots of photos that you also shared with us. I loved seeing all the various motorcycles and the attire of the participants. What a great turnout your DGR had. :) And nice weather for the event it looks like, too. Your posts brought back some fond memories for me of the DGR rides I've done in Tucson in the past. Sadly, no event here this year although I believe there were several in the Phoenix area. Congrats on being in the top 10 fundraisers, too!

Here you go. It's just a cheap IXS helmet I bought for my first DGR back in 2018.
