I've recently traded from a tiger 955i to a tiger 850 sport. The 850 is a 21 plate second hand bike, and the previous owner has put on Bridgestone battleax adventure tyres, but I just can't get on with the tyres on the bike. The bike just feels like it wants to wash out going around corners and does not track going in a straight line. I just don't have any confidence in the handling of the bike. I had anakee 3 fitted to the 955i, and absolutely loved it, great in all conditions.
Has anyone got any other ideas or commets about which shoes would be a good fit, to fit to the tiger, as I'm thinking of going with the anakee 3's again, any ideas???

I am a big believer in sticking with what you know, like and trust. For me it’s Avon, Michelin and Pirelli (depending on the bike) so I would say “stick with Anakee”.

Thanks for your reply, your right about what you like and trust, I think the bike is a bit new for real debate over choice. The old 955i was a heavy old beast, but honestly, I miss the old girl, she wore her weight high, and when I put on the anakee 3's, it transformed the way it performed. I'm sort of hoping the same magic will happen again if I put the same shoes on the 850 sport, which to be honest, is the way I'm leaning at the moment

Unusual for a stock tyre to get good reviews, but the Anakee Adventures do seem to be quite popular. Not sure how big a difference to Anakee 3. Mine still has the Anakee Adventure and I have no cause for concern, but I don't ride hard or really know what I am doing most of the time! Apparently Road 5's are very popular for road only use.

I just installed the anakee adventures on my tiger 900 GT pro, the original tyres were metzler tourance.
The metzelers felt like just like you describe the bridgestones battleax, never gave me a good safe feeling.
The anakee adventures ( which do come as original on the tiger 850) have transformed the riding experience to a very pleasant one.

The Anakee 3's that come on the Tiger 850 as new are good for traction and tracking. I live in East Tennessee and regularly ride route 129, the Tail of the Dragon. They stick when you flick. If there is a drawback, they don't last long on pavement. I'll be replacing these at 5000 miles. I may be looking for a more road biased tire.
