Wife just brought home her brand new Speedmaster. It had 1 mule at dealer. We got it out of her Jeep just down the road. She overheated on the way home in less than a mile and stopped as soon as safe. Coolant level showed good. Dealer is eighty miles away. Maybe the community has the wisdom where we do not. New bike.....take it back to the dealer, I wouldn't touch it if I were you. Probably a service issue but could be serious
Hi Kevin, Agree with sprintdave. Perhaps contact dealer and have them collect the bike. Can I ask what were the symptoms of the overheating. My 2018 model speedmaster doesn't come with a temperature gauge. Cheers
Hi, coolant is good, oil is good. Dealer is 90 minutes away. I don’t have a trailer. We hailed it home in her Jeep but don’t have ramps to load it. We backed into a ditch to get it out. We can get it back to dealer. It would be easier not to. Thank you all though for your advice. Kevin
Kevin James Same here. The dealer sod you a defective machine and to ride could overheat and cause all sorts of problems not to mention engine wear and blown gaskets. Not sure about your neck of the woods but here the dealer is bound to pick up and rectify and either offer a courtesy bike or bring your bike back. Did this myself some years ago and ended up rejecting the bike a sprint st with cutting out problems. Triumph even supported me and sent a test rider who said the bike was dangerous So i rejected it and changed dealer. Joe
Hey all, great news, it was a bad sensor. We loaded her bike back in her Jeep and trekked to the dealer. We got there at a quarter ‘til six (closing time) and they got right to it. They stayed almost an hour late to get us taken care of because we came so far. In the end a big win for Triumph dealer. Kevin
Great result and a simple fix with no damage done. That is exactly how all Triumph dealers should respond in a situation like yours
