    Hi
Here’s what I’m running into. I put the original needles in with the c clip in slot 2 as recommended by mikuni. Have good spark, gas in the float bowl but can’t get it to start. Carbs have been fully cleaned and new floats, pressure tested and held pressure. Cleaned the coil connectors and the spark plugs. I did have it running a couple of weeks ago and it ran but only on cylinders 2 & 3. Temp check on exhaust. Cylinder 1 70 degrees and 2 & 3 400 degrees. 2 & 3 was shooting out black smoke and flames with loud backfire. Now after every thing I’ve done today it still will not start. 16k miles. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thx in advance.

Jets (idle) and the ports are blocked..!
Cause modern unleaded fuel is unstable especially if it has Ethanol ! It goes 'off' gels up the opening in jets or the channels/port's it should flow through !

    Hi,
I’ve only used rec fuel with Techron additive. So shouldn’t be gummed up.

If it's sat long enough , or , frequently enough been left sitting idle , and , unleaded ! It will gum up ! It's a given ! It won't be electrical , unless the battery has reach end of life ! So check battery and Pull apart those carburettors , clean and rebuild !

    Hi
That’s what I’ve done. All new parts oem triumph from euro cycle in Vegas. New floats, complete cleaning. Pressure testing of the floats. Float levels to spec. New carb to head rubber mounts. Made sure all the tiny holes were cleaned with a torch tip cleaner. Ordering new stick coil conversion kit. New air filter and all carb gasket kits all oem. Can’t think of much else. Battery is new plus on a tender. Plus synced the carbs.

Cleaned with pipe cleaners ? Really small ? files ? If you have taken material from any surface in the Jets or port's , the fueling won't be perfect , but that cylinder running cold , is lack of fuel to be burnt !

    Hi
Torch tip cleaner and was extremely careful cleaning emulsion tubes. Put new pilot and main jets from triumph but didn’t work as well as the originals. It ran great when I parked it in November. Did have it running but like I mentioned black smoke and flames when it backfired on 2 & 3 but no fire on 1 when I started it two weeks ago.

Tried swapping the plugs around? Make sure it’s not them.

Just a thought, how many miles has it done, have you checked the valves? Obviously do all the other simple things first as these are most likely.
