Hello folks. Looking to purchase a new Tiger 900 GT low and wondering if the fog lamps are worth the £350 cost?
They are good, but not worth £350. Get some after market ones and fit them yourself. I bought a GT PRO and were included so I didn't feel the pain!
Eyup. I’ve just collected my Rally Pro today. It came with spot lights fitted. They’re good and look good but £350? Probably not.
Hi and welcome. I'm currently fitting fog lights to my 850 sport. It is a bit of a pain, but not overly complex. I think that the Denali system, with their extremely cool dial-a-dim controller, or whatever it is actually called, is absolutely the best and coolest, but you still have 'extra' stuff hanging around. One big advantage (to me) is that the OEM lights come with the switch in the left hand switch housing, so that is completely neat and integrated. I'm after visibility - being seen by cars - more than night time illumination, so I can't say that the super light output available from Denali or Cyclops is worth it. Or, if the OEM lights would be disappointing. I think I've read that they are not great, but having it all neat in in place is appealing.
Had the same thing with the GS, OEM ones were silly money same as yours so I got some copies of the lights and light bar off ebay and wired them in myself for well under a hundred quid.
no, they are not Riding at night I do think the bike needs auxiliary lights, but the factory fog lamps are IMO not enough Spend the $ towards better lamps
For aftermarket, I'm torn between the very likely, very good Denali set up and the $75.00 Cdn. lights from Ali Exp. I don't buy much from them, but the price difference is huge in this case. This post follows my third day fussing with the lights. And in tracking down an intermittent connection issue, it turns out that the connections of the wires into the relay socket is faulty. Clearly cheap and rapid construction, and hidden under shrink wrap. So, I'll see what I can get in terms of a replacement. The lights themselves seem fine, and I have a friend with the same lights, and he is happy with them on his BMW. I don't have a garage to work in and I'm not terribly skilled, so this might be a minor issue for someone else. Just thinking about the OEM vs aftermarket, & $ vs $$$ options.
Welcome Rikki. Have a look on the Denali web site. I have a pair of S4s on my Tiger GT. They are mounted on the engine bars. These lights come on with the ignition and if you are in dip beam or the running light they are on ½ brilliance. Whenever you switch to full beam or use the flasher the come to full brilliance and they are BRIGHT! They are much better value than the Triumph ones. You will want auxiliary lights - for daytime visibility and for critter spotting at night. Look at Clearwater. You’re only going to want to do this once.
I would try to get the triumph ones thrown in as part of the deal when buying the bike. Or at the very least with a heavy discount. I've always done this when buying a new bike.
I suspect that getting options 'thrown in' or heavily discounted is going to be a challenge, but see what you can do. Even if you change the lights themselves, you have the wiring and OEM switch in place.
Hi All, First time posting so hopefully i do this right I have a 2021 Tiger GT and have just brought the auxillary (fog) light bracket. It is an official OEM bracket so should fit like a glove but I am now struggling to get it in place....does any one know if there is a trick to it? There is an adapter with three screw holes that the horn is attached too. I have taken this off the bike and they line up with the holes on the bracket but when i try to screw it back on bike it looks like the two wide holes are about 1mm out of alignment and so won't screw in place....any ideas? Thanks
