2011 Speed Triple - Seat 'thingy' Question!!

Hi all

I was giving the bike a quick once over ready for the Spring, and realized my seat didn't have the tank prop rod. The original owner must have 'mislaid' it......!

I can source one online, but when checking it also appears my seat should have another 'thingy' but I cant establish what it is / what's if for!
