Do these politician live in the real world. According to government advice, if you travel to eastern Ukraine to fight, or to assist others engaged in the conflict, your activities may amount to offences against UK terrorism or other legislation and you could be prosecuted on your return to the UK. The FCDO isn't able to provide consular services to anyone in the parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts not currently under control of the Ukrainian authorities.
I suspect that type of ruling happened after the ISIS crisis, where some of our finest young prospects, in an unusual moment of weakness, were coerced Into being a freedom fighter for a doctrine they fully believe in and love!
I read that it may be related to a law from 1870, somewhat before ISIS, saying it's illegal to enlist in a foreign army at war with a country at peace with the UK

I think that Putin is beyond American, British or European politics… He would happily use anyone as a tool for his desires.
The Russians are claiming that their dead number in the hundreds whereas the Ukrainian figures are in the thousands. One or both of them are telling porkies.
Watching this video reminded me of very similar circumstances in the Falklands war (yes I know it was officially a conflict and not a war). Let’s hope it back fires on Putin as it did on the Argentine junta.
Like all good internet arguments, the reality usually falls nearer the middle! Both figures are shocking, and reveal what regard Putin has for Russian people. Ukrainians are dying to protect their country, Russians dying to give Putin a hard on.
