Petrol tank knee pads

    When it comes to bikes I think less is definitely more!! So as a result I'm considering the removal of the rubber knee pads on my t100 fuel tank. I think it will give the tank a slimmer appearance and a cleaner look. Would be interested to hear the 'for' and 'against' for this proposition.

    It's all down to what you think, personal taste, etc. I got some clear plastic protectors for my Speedmaster after I noticed some minor scuff marks caused by my knees rubbing on the tank. Worth considering 'if' you take the tank pads off, saves scuffing the tank and the effort to remove the marks if you do scuff it.

    Yeah think they're coming off. Love the way the tank comes in at the back and the pads kind of hide the nice shape. Thanks fella's!

    Slimmer as well but it's more which you prefer. After all it's your bike

    Had them on my very first Trumpet, a '54 Thunderbird, put them on my 08 Bonnie, so had to put some on this latest (03) one!
    Tank felt too skinny with-out them to me.
    I tend to grip the tank with my knees, no knee down stuff on the Bonnie.

    I personally like to see the lovely painted tank rather than some rubber pads :) and you shouldnt really need to grip the tank! It's not a sports bike!

    Yeah I agree with you SamC. It's a lovely tank,shame to stick rubber to it!
