    Hi all,
Just recently bought an 2004 Sprint ST and had a question about what's normal usable rev range.
I've ridden bikes for 6 years but they've all been v-twins (most recently SV650s k3) so I'm relatively used to how they behave and what revs they like to sit at.
However with the triple it feels pretty usable at almost any rev and since it has an extra bang per revolution my ears aren't quite tuned to the higher sound.

What sort of rpm range do people generally sit between for usual everyday riding?
    Thanks

Welcome to Triumph. And the forum.

Don’t ride the bike. Ride the engine. Revs are not a bad thing.

Focus on being smooth, and the correct gear will naturally become apparent.

Triumph are known for their flat torque curves, so the question becomes how much HP does any given situation/moment warrant.

Most owners manuals will caution against “lugging the engine”. Keep the revs up. Use the friction zone.

Just because it can doesn’t mean you should.

When you say normal day to day riding, I’m assuming you mean staying within the national speed limit. If this is the case the 1050 is very comfortable at around 6 or 7k. Clearly if you want to give it a real handful you can max it through the gearbox and the bike will fly.

Welcome to the family. Rev's don't really bother me as long as i keep the bike out of the red line. Do hit the upload a file and show the inmates your bike.
    Joe.

Thanks for the replies. Kinda as I expected. Gotta tune my ears and get used to the extra bang per revolution!
