Good evening, New to the forum! I am hopefully looking at purchasing a 2017 Street Twin with 3k miles on it. I used to have a 1978 XS650, but sold it as I relocated from NY to TN. Looking forward to learning about the Triumph brand. Is there anything I should look for or need to know about the Street Twin before going to look at the motorcycle. It is at a dealer and the dealer is asking $7,200. Thanks
@Collinst15 Greetings and welcome to the forum, Collin! And welcome to the wonderful world of Triumph, too. You've definitely come to the right place. There are lots of folks here with Street Twins and even more who know tons about Triumphs--all models across many years. You may also want inquire on the Bonneville and Triumph Twin Power forums within the Triumph Forum to find members who can provide you with specific information related to your potential purchase.
Welcome to the forum, and the world of Triumph! Exciting times lay ahead! I echo what Sandi said. Have a look around and explore the forum. You'll find lots of useful information and people are always willing to help if they can.
Welcome and good choice of bike I have owned a 2017 Street Cup since new and recently converted it to Street Twin for a more comfortable riding position. I can’t think of anything to watch out for when buying one second hand, other than the usual condition and mods. However, I and others on here are not fans of the stock Pirelli Phantom tyres so you may find that a new set of tyres will make a world of difference to the handling (if they haven’t already been changed). Good luck and please share photos when you get the bike.
Collinst15 Welcome to the family. Do keep us informed of you thoughts and a picture would be nice. Just hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and shoe the inmates your new toy. Of course when you stop playing and grinning. Joe.
Good day everyone, Thank you for the warm welcome! After going to look at the bike. It is a sweet looking bike and would look into buying it, but I've also done some research into the Speed Twin. With all the upgrades that came with the 2019+ models I think it would be worth paying a little more, if I can find one at a good price. Tim
