Hi Folks Long-time Triumph lover, gradually coming down in height and power as I age: Speed Triple 955i originally (worra bike - God knows what the 1200 must be like!), Street Triple (again, a wonderful engine - wish I'd been flexible enough to ride a Daytona 675) and for the last 4 years, Street Twin. I'll probably keep the Stwin as long as I'm riding, so I expect to improve the rear shocks some time, and need to fit some peg lowerers to help with cramp in one hip after an hour or so's riding. That worked well with the Blackbird I had - and loved - until I couldn't cope with the crouch, even with bar risers, and recently with the CBF1000 I ride 2-up and in winter. Any suggestions for lowerers? Hwyl (Welsh for "Cheers", as those familiar with the language of Heaven will know).
Hi Morton. Welcome to the forum. Fortunately there's no such thing as a Triumph that isn't fun to ride so it's all good. Best to take your post code out of your location info so no one comes for a closer look at your bikes than you'd like...
Hi Morton and welcome to the forum great introduction and ride history, looking forward to seeing some of your ride pix
@Havit Could it be built into the profile page that you can't leave a postcode in it somehow? Or, it warns you not to? Seems to happen quite a bit and this one is no exception either? Thanks for looking!
That's a good idea. There's no real need for having a full address on the forum. It's not as if you'll be receiving a Halfords discount card...
Morton Davis Welcome to the family. Good intro. Do hit the upload a file and show the inmates the new bike and any of the others if you have a mind to. Joe.
Welcome Morton I too suffer from the same hip cramps on long journeys (on some but not all of my bikes) but I find a simple £35.00 posture pad from Amazon raises me up enough to avoid the cramps, it is also more comfortable when in the saddle for 2+ hours. All the best Hwyl
Hi Guys Thanks for the welcomes and Geoff's tip. I haven't got round to checking posts for a week or so, and had I seen Geoff's post I might not have trundled the Stwin to Cheddar and Helmet City last week and bought a ComfortAir inflatable seat pad, but so far, and over limited distance, I'm delighted with the result in terms of posteriol(?) comfort. I don't expect it to make a difference to the cramp, though, as it's quite thin. I'm thinking of getting another pair of CBF1000 peg lowerers and getting my bike guy (Rich, at Fixit Motorcyce Mechanics - top bloke) to make them fit the Twin. BTW, the Helmet City folk are very pleasant and helpful, and this branch has a chocolate factory and cafe attached to the shop. Hwyl i bawb (Cheers, Everyone) (Still happy to be Welsh, in spite of our dismal performance on Saturday!)
