Triumph of Seattle (USA) has a 1200RR on display today and tomorrow (Jan 7 and Jan 8). So I rode the 2020 version of the Speed Triple over to TOS and took some pics.

The paint is ridiculous in real life. It has that wet look that Triumphs have had for the last couple of years.

The bike is tiny. Crouched next to a couple of Tigers, it looks like a piranha beside a giraffe.

Why did Triumph invest in these nice castings for the passenger pegs? They will be the first thing removed from 90% of the bikes, after all.

Fun photos, @Jet City! I'm guessing Seattle was a stop on this "Sneak Peek Tour". A riding buddy of mine (a Thruxton owner) e-mailed me the flyer for the stop here in Tucson which is next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm off on Tuesdays so plan to head over to our local Triumph dealership to check things out. I'm especially curious and eager to see the Speed Triple 1200RR in person.

I’ll be interested to hear what you think after you’ve sat on the RS and RR back to back, Sandi.

I'll let you know. I'll definitely plan to ride my RS to the event.

Very nice @Jet City, thank you... it’s looks even nicer in those pics... it’s one of the few modern roadsters to have really caught my eye.

The ergos are pretty racy compared to the RS version with handlebars.

No, that’s not quite right. It’s the bars. The clip on bars are quite low and forward and put you in a racy lean. Legroom is still good tho.

Wet look paint eh? Not heard that before. Lovely red though and far better than the matt paint that's so fashionable at the mo.

Sandi T, I don't know your inside leg measurement (why would I?), but I'd be interested to know how you cope with the seat height. Too many bike manufacturers nowadays assume everyone is 6ft+. In my younger days I was happy with tippy toes but not now.

Good question, @beerkat. My Speed Triple RS definitely has the tallest seat height of any bike I've owned. I did opt for the Triumph Speed Triple Low seat which dropped it .8 inch. Doesn't sound like much but it made all the difference for me. I ride in a pair of either Alpinestars or Sidi boots which don't have much height on either sole or heel. But, that said, I can nearly flat foot it. I'm 5'7" but, like you, I don't know my inseam measurement. And, unlike you, I should!

I suggested that to my other half as she struggled to reach the ground on her Streetfighter. Unimpressed, she was. :D
