I would definitely get a key set and start from there.
If possible, pics always help if you have them?

You can sometimes find the FULL set (ecu, seat, tank, ignition, immobiliser etc) as a whole lot on fleabay.
Get looking as it's very probably the easiest way for you?

Hi Rexdrumer and welcome to the forum, the issue you describe is fairly straightforward, first the keys you had originally are programmed to the ECU, the most cost effective way forward is a complete secondhand lock set with ECU, there are a few on e bay at present, they come complete with everything you need, as yours is a 2018 model you can only use up to the 2020 model RS, from 2020 onwards the machines are very different, wiring, engine lights etc, and are not interchangeable. Presumably you handed the keys back to the insurance company, therefore ring them up and ask if they still have them. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Real bummer getting your pride and joy stolen by tail rags. But welcome to the family. Yes do try for a complete kit for a straight sway and tune. But all won't be lost as the parts sell for great money and are in demand.

Thanks to all the advice with my problem,,I have since bought a new key and ecu kit including tank seat and barrel key with immobiliser and ecu,They are in the post on theyre way,My new dilema is my bike has a total of 800kms as it wasnt ridden much from new but im guessing the ecu on its way being used is going to show a different mialege to mine,,can it be corrected to what my bike originally was or am i going to have to go with whatever miles will come on the ecu,,

Go with whatever miles i think.
If it's a NEW one, triumph can program it with the current mileage if THEY replace it.
I think it's been asked before somewhere on here.
Basically, take pics, document it and keep the receipts as it'll help enormously when selling it.

Put your parts on the bike and then go to the main Triumph Dealer in your area , get it all reprogrammed.

I was under the impression if i bought a new ecu immobaliser ignition barrel as a kit they should plug in and work fine as theyre all matched to each other,,what else has to be programmed

If it's in the shop and it doesn't work , then technician can login and reset everything.
Some vehicles have coded ancillary equipment that needs to be "set" in the ECU , or it will ignore them and there will be issues.

Issues that might arise - Speedo won't work , lighting , indicators , side stand and clutch switching. Thing's from the engine , temperature gauge , atmospheric pressure sensor , crank position sensor ????
