Tacked and fitted, ready for holiday trial riding.:p The rake on the backrest will need to come forward and have a gusset added for strength, but I am happy with the fit

Finally, after modifying the position on holiday, a tack weld broke on the way home and I lost the pillion:sob::poop:. Managed to get a cheapy replacement on fleaBay
I put it back in the shop for full welding and adjusting for backrest position.:)
I finally got to fit it today.

Weather is shite for 3 days and we have just gone into level 3 lockdown for the same period (for now), so will be a while to do the final test ride
Mrs Dartplayer is happy with the look and new angle

Takes less than 10mins to fit and I have trialed with my luggage for 1200km, so took Mrs Dartplayer for the final comfort test and got sign off :p There is room to relax back once she is more accomplished as a pillion, but is now open to coming on minor outings on the bike

I also have the original riders seat and the crap pillion seat.. I really think Triumph should reimburse people for that crap pillion.. after advertising it as a "more practical pillion seat".. utter bollocks..lol

It was mate’s rate’s @tunza. :kissing_heart: 1/3 sheet of stainless and some 12mm rod, plus welding. I took him fishing and gave $300 dollars for time/materials  I designed the seat and it took 3 fittings and rework to make comfortable and practical to sit on.

If you ride pillion a lot, you may consider the Corbin tourer, with or without backrests

I believe Corbin also make a riders seat and pillion seperately...I think that may be more my style, then i can just have the riders seat without the ugly pillion on the back.. tends to spoil the profile imho..:)

Agree if you ride solo.
I purchased a Corbin single, which can have optional pillion

Ive heard that the Corbin seats are quite firm and take a while to "break in".. whats your thoughts on that?

My wife is "less than thrilled" by the pillion seat and backrest. (I had a 2013 FJR with gel seats and top case with backrest before)

Really enjoy the lower back support, more than I expected. Also great when hitting potholes. The diamond patterned seat also holds you and reduces movement.
I find it very comfortable and can ride for 3 hours with ease. I also added the glovebox, which is handy. Yes, removable, so I can fit my custom pillion seat

More firm than hard. I think it is the big difference to having the soft gel on the comfort seat. It definitely improves while riding. I enjoyed the difference of the comfort seat, when new, but after 2 years they are not as good. Some guys on here have added extra dense foam and restapled, with good results :sun:
