Did the rear panel come of easily? i've got a small scratch on mine due to cargo bag rubbing it,not sure whether to get it painted or just leave it as a sort of battle scar!
I know that this isn't just harley d doing this but to drop the price by a THIRD and VERY likely to still be making a decent profit is a bit wrong IMHO? That's just milking customers in my eyes and can't be justified. Sure, r&d costs but 30%? wowsa!
Comes off easy Dougie. The usb box is a bit fiddly as you need to get that out (from below) to get to one of the screws.
I picked up my new (used) Moto2 Due to excessively challenged wankers at the dealership (not Triumph) who kept screwing up the paperwork (no loan involved), I had to hurry to help a waiting client. Hence only 11 miles for the first day's ride. Fortunately, the alternate to the highway has many nicely flowing turns, some fairly high-speed sweepers (not according to speed limit signs, tho). When I saw this beauty on the show room, I was not even considering another, yet. But, after reading and listening to so many reviews, I went for it. EVERY ASPECT OF THIS MACHINE HAS EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS, BY A LOT!! The turning in, holding the line, stability in the turns (almost the same?), riding position, varying places for my butt on the seat and the incredible midrange are all amazing! They are brand new Road 5's so I didn't lean it over as much as if they were already scrubbed in. (Had the dealer take off the Corsa's to save for a future trackday) Needless to say ,I am very happy! What a truly satisfying sports machine. Next, I'll take some real photos with a real camera! And surely you all know that a good ride is better than bad sex. This bike is going to be better than just-ok-sex, too!
Since the winter weather is currently showing its "friendlier" side, I took the opportunity to ride my TIGER to the office again. It was a bit chilly as usual, but the roads are currently snow-free and dry.
I stripped the rear brake calliper on my T595 today and the pistons were both seized. I managed to remove them both with the socket trick mentioned on this forum and below, which was so easy and saved me needing to buy a special tool. The pistons are pitted so a new seal kit and pistons are now on order.
Heated gear makes all year round riding possible, love it. Lunchtime today down the Curragh, Co Kildare, Ireland.
Can I please ask what the socket trick is? Sounds interesting after fighting with zzr1100 ones a few years ago!
Installed a dna high flow air filter very pleased with the throtle response and a stronger high end, maybe my old filter was very clogged .Very happy the fuel tank can stay , I hated that on the vstrom it had to be removed
Finished off the Rocket update today. Just the headlamps to sort now. Pretty pleased with the black Original And now.....
I'm not sure about the angle of the license plate. Probably a legal requirement, but it doesn't look right IMHO. Otherwise great improvements! Mind you, the original wasn't too shabby either!
Well, if we're going to be picky, the mounting screws aren't symmetrical either. (and never apologise to Greta - she needs a good slapping) The plate's illegal anyway, a single line would look better, but you're more likely to get away with what you have.
I’ve only just noticed the ROKT 2.5 plate, nice @SleepyOwl. I like the subtle changes of the trim and particularly the rear guard removal
I’m not too bothered about the plate being illegal. It’s only illegal by 0.6 wide and 1.5 width as have less than 7 digits on the reg but yes, not legal.Had that size plate on all my bikes for at least 20 years and never been stopped. I have a straight plate and wondering whether to put it on and see what happens. It’s only a case of changing back if I do get stopped. Doubt I will be sent to clink!
