I have a late (P Reg.) black/red Trident 900 that I am looking to sell. Hopefully there's a couple of pics below. I know it's the wrong time of year to be trying to sell a motorcycle but ..... it's definitely the right time of year to be buying one, is it not? So, I'd like to sell this one in order to buy a different one! Fear not, though - t'other one's a Triumph triple too, of course. :)

Anyway, about this one. It's a '96 and has just over 19,100 miles on it. There's a fair bit of paperwork for history and there are a few pictures elsewhere on this site from previous posts.

The only thing it really lacks is the brushed alloy trim on the side panels, however, I have a pair that I bought - at great expense from the US, actually - that need to be removed from their plastic backing and simply re-rivetted on to this bike's panels. Et voila!

I think it's priced very fairly at £2,200 or very near offer as, while I wouldn't ever try to pass it off as "immaculate, unmarked and totally original", it is in very good condition (with some age related marks), low mileage and goes extremely well indeed. The motor is smooth, quiet and very willing and the running gear is all in good nick. It has very good Bridgestone tyres with plenty of life left in them - the handling is confident and surefooted so the tyres, forks and shock are obviously in fine fettle. The asking prices for these T300 bikes seem to be pretty random at present and, of the six that I can currently see for sale on-line, the only one cheaper (at £2,000) is a '96 with 30,000 miles on it. The one with the closest recorded total mileage (at 19,700) is £2,850 and it's a '93.

It will, I think, be some time before these bikes are classed as "rare and hard to find" but they do seem to be increasingly desirable as 'modern classics' and low mileage, good condition examples are holding their prices. They're economical, reliable and robust and I had no intention of ever letting this one go - I don't often sell bikes and this is a particularly good one, and one I really love - but I'm pretty much out of room right now, especially as a lot of our furniture is stored where motorcycles ought to be! So, at present I have to adopt a 'one out, one in' policy.

If I get the asking price I'd be happy to do an oil and filter change before sale so it will be ready to go as soon as the roads are dry and the weather is more motorcycle friendly! Actually, it's ready to go right now as the oil & filter in there have only done a few hundred miles but, peace of mind and all that.

The bike is currently MOT'd until 18/05/22. It will be SORN'd today - I'd hoped to give it one more run out but it's raining here so that's NOT going to happen. My plan, if it doesn't sell, is to take all the fuel out, run the float bowls dry, put half a gallon of non-ethanol fuel with some fuel stabiliser in there and give it a regular start and warm up over the winter. Heck, it might be worth even more by next year! ;)

Viewing by agreement on any mid week day or Sunday. I'm in mid Devon but only 7 miles from the M5 motorway. If it sells at the asking price, I'd be willing to trailer the bike up to 50 miles to deliver either to you or to a part way meet, but that would be only after full payment has been made and with no liability implied on my part.

All the usual "t's and c's" apply - no test rides without the full asking price in my hand or funds in my account; no part exchange or swaps (unless you happen to have a very low mileage, vgc.,Thunderbird Sport with dual side outlet exhausts? ;-)) required, thanks, and no warranty is expressed or implied.

Feel free to P.M. me with any questions or for further information.

p.s. Sorry, I don't have any better pictures on my phone at present, but these were taken on a ride I did a couple of weeks ago so they're very recent and relevant. I'm on whatsapp so I assume I could do a video call walk around if needed and am happy to show it start and run.

EDIT :- I noticed today that the seat on the Trident - as pictured - is one I put on from my T300 Daytona just to try it for comfort on a longer ride. The original seat is now on there - it doesn't have the imprinted 'pattern' but does have a pillion strap and cowl mounting lugs. It, too, is in perfect condition.

If you've stayed with me thus far - thanks for reading and for looking! Stay safe. :)

Beautiful bike, Adie! I hope that it goes to a good home and someone who will love and care for it as well (or perhaps even half as well!) as you clearly have. And I'm sorry that you've the need to sell it as you said that you'd prefer keeping it. Ah well, who needs furniture anyway?! ;):joy: Good luck with the sale. :)

Hey Sandi! Thanks for that. Yes, it IS a great bike and it goes as well as - if not better than - it looks! I love it to bits, but ........

I'd really like to keep it, and may yet end up doing so, but space really is at a premium at the moment and I've seen my next intended acquisition. We're currently 'living in the kitchen' as we've had to take all of the furniture from our lounge and distribute it around the rest of the house and my workshop following a "natural disaster event" which has resulted in the floor of the lounge being ripped out, industrial heaters/dehumidifiers running 24/7 for the past 6 weeks, and a seemingly ineluctable struggle with the insurance company to agree to having remedial work done!

As a rather unwelcome corollary it looks like the replacement of the whole floor with an insulated concrete slab is only going to be stage one - the plaster and render in the whole room will then have to be hacked off and removed; the walls tanked and replastered then, maybe sometime in 2022, we'll have the deep joy of re-decorating the room and replacing the furniture and fittings ...........

Merry Christmas? BAH HUMBUG! :D (That's me forcing a rictus grin through gritted teeth!!)

Thanks Dougie - I appreciate the kind words.

I KNOW that someone will get a good deal when/if it sells. If it doesn't sell then it won't exactly be a hardship for me to remain its loving, caring owner for a while longer ..... I just have to hope I can find some space (and the money!!) to squeeze the other one in as well!

That's a really nice bike Adie, and I've spent a lot of the day trying to work out how I could find space, but I failed, so I hope you find a really good owner for it

Oh my gosh, Adie. I am SO sorry to read the details of what you're dealing due to the natural disaster event. :( We had a major water pipe break and flood our house in the spring of 2020 and had to deal with that (including those obnoxious dehumidifiers and fans) but your woes are far greater than ours were. Wow, now I can see why the motorcycles may not be at the top of the priority list....at least for the time being. Good luck with all of your repairs and with the insurance company struggles as well. Hopefully by Christmas of 2022 ( much sooner preferably) you'll be able to genuinely and joyfully say, "Merry Christmas".

Oh come on, Cornellii, you obviously weren't trying hard enough! ;)

Kidding, of course. Thanks for that. I'm hopeful that someone will come along but, if they don't, well I can, as they say, live with that.

    Cheers.

Hey Sandi. Yep, things are real shitty right now ... but there's a saying that I've always tried to fall back on ....

    "THIS, TOO, WILL PASS."

I have many, many things for which I am grateful - and not just a shitload of motorcycles. ;)

The house will, I know, be fixed - eventually - and then balance will be restored in my tiny universe! But I think I can write off this Christmas as a celebration! :D

That shouldn't even be a blip in the road on everyone else's journey through the festive period so, in the immortal wordsd of Noddy HOLDER

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!

A few extra photos - taken late today ........ except the last one which was taken late last year and was inserted here to show that the near side tank and side panel paint isn't scratched or marked as it appears to be in the other image of that side - it's just a reflection of the driveway!
