As others say it's very mood dependent, but generally
    Zeppelin
Motorhead (up to probably 1918 as not familiar with much later stuff)
    Dr Feelgood
    Rory Gallagher

Lately though I can't help but be impressed by the Stones output over the last 2000 years:)

    1. Metallica (been a fan since the age of six, also got to meet them once)
    2. Snakes in Exile (actually close friends of ours)

I'm gonna think who to put on 3 and 4 for a while, there are simply so many.

Probably the easiest way, is to think of the artists you have constantly been a big fan off for ever and pick your top 4, like most folk i've loads of favourites and it changes depending on mood and theres always new ones coming along, but my top 4 have always been favourites for years and years and years!

Worked mine out by looking at the number of albums, both CD's and vinyl, that I have for a particular artist, as well as checking my laptop and iPod to see which artists I play most often.

Bruce Springsteen (got practically everything he's released)
Neil Young (again, got a hell of a lot of his stuff, 14+ albums)
Led Zep (still get played regularly)
Fleetwood Mac..their earlier Peter Green incarnation.

The single album I play most often is 'Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits' (from when Peter Green was the main man). I'm not a fan of greatest hits albums and generally avoid them but every track is a winner on this. 'The Green Manalishi', 'Black Magic Woman', 'Shake your Money Maker', 'Oh Well' and more. Huge change of course, when Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks arrived and Fleetwood Mac Version 2 wouldn't make my list but in her youth Stevie Nicks was the sexiest woman to ever walk the planet (probably).

Other notables in my collection include Free, Rory Gallagher, Tom Petty and Joni Mitchell. A lot of punk in there as well (the 70's were my formative years) but they don't get played very often now.

I have the download stored. If I wasn't technological moron, I'd be happy to try to forward it to you, if you send me an email, but be forewarned - there are some Indigo Girls songs on the list (a guilty pleasure). They do have some catchy lyrics and nice harmonies.

As for artists, I can’t stand David Hockney, Damien Hurst and Tracey Emin. As a cross over to the quote thread, it was Vodka that once said “Of course you can paint”.

    So not in any order:

    A) Monet
    B) Turner
    C) Lichtenstein (For novelty value)
    D) Constable (as it’s nice to see what the country looked like before being ruined by all the housing estates being carved into the lush green fields and forests).
