Is anyone running the Beeline navigation? From reading about it sounds like just what I’m looking for, however the reviews I’ve read seem to be in the middle…not great and not horrible, just looking for some advice from actual users. I normally waste my lunch time looking for new routes to take around my backyard and after setting up a map I have no way of saving it in google maps and even if I did, I do not know of a way to put them on the phone. Also, from reading it seems the phone is not the thing to use as the vibrations seem to kill the camera, but that’s another thread for another time. Again, from reading, it seems like that is how you set up a route with the Beeline. Thanks for the information.
Yep I use one too. Takes a bit of getting used to but I like it. You still need to pay attention to road signs etc… and can probably expect a few wrong turns but its so discreet looking on the bike! The app is good for planning routes and its all real easy to use!
Just found a cool feature too… If you put a what three words location into the Beeline App it recognises it and you can plan a route to the location!
Ive just fitted one to my Bonnie its a good little bit of kit Sportsbike shop are doing them for £119 dont get me wrong its not like my BMW Nav 6 but it will get you where you want to go and for that money you cant moan Rob

I was under the impression that once the route has been entered you didn't need phone on as it doesn't require the internet data. Only if it needs to re route to your be destination. Still haven't decided on getting one as yet.
I purchased one couple weeks back and haven't had the chance to try it out yet on the bike...I did use it in the car going to store with the wife...seemed to work as advertised. Hopefully I can get it on the bike in a couple weeks...weather is a little too cold for riding with only heated grips. Thanks for the information!
I've had one for about a year and a half. It's been a wonderful companion on all sorts of trips. Sadly, it stopped working the other day. Screen went dead. I contacted customer support at Beeline, and they say (1) it's "probably a software issue," and (2) it's out of warranty. (The warranty is only for one year.) Plus, they are unable to repair anything that's out of warranty--even for payment. I would have expected better for the price I paid for it. Still, I will probably buy another. They're that useful.
I’ve heard they are like that as far as out of warranty goes, which to me is a CRAPPY way to do business. Yep, you purchased it from us, but since it’s out of warranty, sorry…buy another…see ya. I purchased mine from a guy that claimed he was in on the startup campaign, got it for ¼ of new so if it goes tits up no big deal. As mentioned, haven’t had it out other than in the car. Good to hear you’d purchase another…if/when mine goes I’ll buy from AJ Cycles the Triumph logo one…has a 2-year warranty as opposed to the one year from Beeline.
yeah, I'm going to use the opportunity to upgrade to the Triumph branded version. Best price seems to be at World of Triumph--even after shipping, it's about $50 less than what my local Triumph dealer quoted me.
I’ve got a stem nut mount for the beeline for sale in the parts section if anyone is interested…cracking way to subtly mount it onto a variety of bikes including the Thruxton, Bobber and Speed Triple RR.
A little word of caution; I bought one a year or so ago but only started using it recently. Fitted a bar clamp to my Speed Twin. On the way back from a weekend away, during which the Beeline was great, it fell out of the mount. The plastic adjuster ring that you rotate to orientate the Beeline had a phillips screw which wound itself out, so the mount stayed on the bars while the Beeline, still attached to the adjuster ring bounced down the M3 somewhere. Beeline have said they will refunded the mount, but I've had to buy another device. A replacement/additional bar clamp bought last week at Sportsbikeshop still has the silver phillips screw. Recent photos on their website show a self-coloured countersunk hex head screw, fitting flush to the ring. The older silver crosshead screw I originally had, wasn't quite flush I don't think. There is a machined thread in the anodised aluminium bar mount. I have an experienced torque sensitive wrist, especially considering the three types of material involved. Surfice to say, I would have tightened it appropriately. However, I didn't use locktight having rotated/re-aligned the ring. Make of that what you will. Lessons learnt. Still a great little device. The irony is that I didn't have complete confidence in the rubber O-ring bands for the basic mount and thought the bar clamp a better bet.
A little update. I have now got a new bar clamp. The adjuster ring has a rebate for the flat underside of the philips screw which I'd assumed was a countersunk screw to match the countersunk hole in the adjuster ring that I had previously. Anyway, tightening the screw into the countersunk hole, rather than the rebated hole, causes it to fracture, which probably explains why mine fell off. Worth checking whether you have a rebated or countersunk hole.
I just brought one of these - it’s great, easy to use & easy to navigate by. But my first unit was a take of woe - went out for a bedding in ride having had to wait for the angled mount ( the triumph branded unit does t come with it - the silver & gunmetal ones from Sportsbike shop do I believe) So my jaunt was 4 miles to my mates house, naturally set out a little cautiously as I kept expecting the sticky mount to fall off what with the heat n all, but arrived safe with no probs - it reroutes nicely and you don’t have to mute any whining voices telling you to “turn around when possible”, safari - so goody! On the way back things went horribly wrong. I was a mile in to my return when I looked down to see my beautiful gunmetal unit had gone ! I stopped immediately, fortunately (extremely so) it had dropped into the bar clamp, it took me a couple of seconds to see what I was seeing. The back of the unit was still attached to the sticky mount ! The unit was upside down showing a blue bottom, which turned out to be the battery. On examination three of the retaining screws were gone & the one left had sheared. I was so lucky it dropped where it did. Beeline themselves were excellent & expedited the warranty claim - the dealer was less impressive, unable or unwilling to replace a unit I had possessed for literally hours until confirmed by beeline, that said beeline themselves were on the case & immediately authorised a replacement unit. I really like the device & how it looks & works but I did nip the screws in the back of the replacement, just in case. I haven’t used it much since but hoping for a ride or two later in the week.
I've had mine for about 20 months. As a previous poster said, they take a bit of getting used to but the app has been updated continually over the time I've owned it which makes it much more usable.h The app does still run in the background on your phone. But I've used it continually for around 5 hours and the battery didn't go down much at all. After all, it's the screen on that kills modern smartphone batteries and there is no need for the screen to be on when using the beeline. I do wonder though if there is a V2 coming out, as the velo version (for cyclists) has been recently updated. I love mine now, even with the few wrong turns, and always use it for my leisurely rides. One tip too: you can use calimoto to plan a twisty route, export the .gpx and import it into the beeline.
I’ve just done an 800mile tour with mine and love it! Once you’re used to using it as well as road signs, it’s amazing! I agree that there might be a v2 in the pipeline…sign me up!
I’ve just ticked over 10,000 miles with the beeline moto…it’s got me through tours, blood biking, observing for WVAM and many more rides! Thoroughly recommend these little units, I love that you still have to look at signs etc… and can’t just be reliant on it.
Yes the being observant is key. I met a few friends at pub car park, but failed to look up/around properly and kept following beeline around in a loop. I forgot, as I don't used beeline to get me to a specific location, that you don't get a message of "you've reached your destination".
