Has anyone had a custom paint job done on a brand new bike?

Reason I ask is the Mrs still struggling to love her new Street like she did her old one. We have had quite a few mods done already but she has finally said it's the colour. Imperial Purple was the colour of her old bike, not available on the new one.

Wish now I had asked the dealer to just get it done, think they can send them to 8 ball custom.

If I can get a decent quote I may send it and get it painted this winter, need to keep her happy.... never know when I might need her to sign off on my next bike.

Richard, just a thought.. i have a friend who does custom bike painting for a living,he does most of the paint jobs for West coast Harley Davidson in Glasgow. he makes a fantastic job and I'm pretty sure he would be cheaper than 8 ball custom.you would have to send the parts to him as he lives in Blairgowrie. but if you want you can pm me and I'll give you his number if you want to find out a price

Thanks for the offer, ideally want to send the whole bike away as I would hate to mark the paint reassembling and 8 ball are close to us but will see what they quote us. Cheers

How about having it wrapped? I have seen some very impressive results for a lot less cost and time.

That sounds like a good plan.

Only ever really seen it on cars - hard to tell the difference from paint finish if done well and it's a layer of protection over the original paint.

My wife has a Street with an 8 Ball paint job. The dealer had it done before we saw it to test the water for sale-ability. Seemed to work :)

I'd explore the wrapping route, as if she ever wanted to sell it - think it'll be easier for a non-purple bike!

Dealer resold her old purple bike in a matter of days, it was a Triumph colour but only for one year....she wants exactly the same colour, no fancy graphics. FB_IMG_1460921230324.jpg

The above was wrapped, I don't know if someone out there could manufacture them to colour code. But there's a lot of metallic purples on google images!

Had a similar thing with my wife.
She had a 2013 Street, but didn't really get on with it, but, in her case, it was more the bike than the colour.
However, by chance a Purple/White SE Bonnie came up at our local dealer, she part ex'd her Street for it.
She's had it two years now and wouldn't change it for anything else. 2c92966645699eea0145addc3e383f6c_MB_243.jpg

That looks really nice, trouble is my mrs likes having the power (and quickshifter)

Picking bikes on colour must be more of a girl thing, last 10 years I've had a blue Bandit, Red Multistrada, Red Speed Triple, black Tiger 800, and an orange Versys 1000.......unless of course someone out there wants to own up to always buying the same colour machine.

when I got my first speedy I only had parameters to go by....must have ABS and not be black, no prizes for guessing what colour I ended up with, oh well at least I got the ABS.
