I have jsut received the logbook for my brand new 2019 street twin and the colour states 'Gold' however it is the Ironstone Grey. Any ideas on why this is and how i go about changing it?
To change it, you will have to send the V5C back to DVLA with the correction and they will re-issue a new one. But before that you should speak with the dealer to check if there is a reason why it states Gold on there. As far as i know, Street Twin doesn’t come in Gold.
I have just spoken with them and they said for some reason the street twin comes up as many random colours on the log books and not to worry.
That response from a dealer is the proverbial "crock of ........" Sounds to me like they're covering their mistake! There are only 3 standard, factory listed colours for the new Street Twin. The dealer is,presumably, responsible for listing the colour when the bike is registered and it really shouldn't be difficult to cross match VIN no. to one of the three colours available. Half Ton is spot on about the potential repercussion from a vehicle check - at very least it could be a serious hassle and inconvenience. IMHO they've ballsed it up - they have a duty to you and the DVLA to correct it.
Oh really? Bar this small hiccup they have been nothing short of brilliant in all my dealings to date.
And I have had nothing but problems, especially post-sales. Am planning to try either Guildford or Oxford dealership next time I need anything done. But don't let my experience paint your view
Hi i have bought a 2008 speedmaster and it is definitely its original colour of blue/silver but the logbook states red/black. If i change the details you have to put date of change. Won’t this be indicated on the updated book and therefore seem suspicious?
Shouldn't be a problem if you keep a copy of all of the paperwork records, especially from your dealings with DVLA. If some of that is phone based then make a note of date/time, person involved and any outcome. I assume that the V5C has the correct VIN recorded?
Thanks. Yes I have checked the VIN and know there's nothing dodgy afoot. I guess the previous 6 owners weren't bothered.
