Trumpy from down Under, so many questions
She's a Thunderstorm on two wheels
Probably the last bike for me so am going to adapt her for my future on her
Have been asking the bike people local and online,
Triumph rat forum didn't really help, was interesting though
I want to change the handle bars, have osteo arthritis which will get worse with age, so need to pull bars back and up to bring me up an comfortable but can't get a straight answer, a mate gave me his Thunderbird handle bars which seem a better position but have been told cables won't fit,
    Any suggestions please

I had the thunderbird LT and the bars on that were very comfortable, so you could look at them. Not sure about the cable lengths but from what I understand the thunderstorm and T’bird are the same, just a different configuration. There are a few members with these bikes, so hopefully they will be along to help….

Edit: I guess you could use the T’bird cables if the oem don’t work with the T’bird bars..

Hi Trumpy and welcome to the forum  cables generally have 2”/50mm of play, which suits up and over applications. With the upgrades we have done (risers) we have rerouted the cables to give more play :p

Allo Wessa yep found the answer to my cunundrum, the storm an LT have the same length cables and as the storm has higher risers making the cables to short, so I can use longer triumph cables from another model, can't remember which one , I just have to take tank off for front brake hydraulic cable, take a measurement for cable length on new handle bar and the swap the cables onto new handlebars, cause they are Third handle bars all the grips an everything should swap straight over ✌️
